New and Used Ford Lynx for Sale Philippines 2017
Lithe and spontaneous are two words that can aptly describe the Ford Lynx and its feline namesake. Unlike its counterpart in the wild, however, the Ford Lynx is a 4-door, 5-seater passenger car you can easily tame thanks to its smooth ride and responsive handling.
The Ford Lynx was up for grabs in the Philippine market and exported to other Southeast Asian countries up until the middle of 2005. Due to waning popularity and lukewarm sales, Ford discontinued the Lynx in favor of the Ford Focus, so you may be hard pressed to find a new Ford Lynx for sale in the country. That said, there are plenty of good quality Lynxes to unearth in the used cars for sale market.

Ford Lynx Review in the Philippines
Ford Lynx Specs and Performance
Two engine choices—a 1.3 and a 1.6 engine, both supplied by Mazda, drive the Ford Lynx Philippines forward. The 1.3 liter B3-ME gasoline engine offers 85 horsepower and 112 Nm of torque, while the larger 1.6 liter ZM-DE Inline-4 gasoline engine provides 118 horsepower and 148 Nm of torque. Even without valve timing technology, Ford Lynx engines get the majority of their power at high rpms, making them rev happy and considerably powerful. The Ford Lynx’s sporty feel and good cornering capabilities can be attributed to its suspension system which is comprised of a front independent MacPherson strut and a rear dual-link strut. This type of suspension also allows for a more compact vehicle and more room for other components as well as luggage and passengers. The Lynx’s unibody construction makes it lighter and grants better torsional stiffness.
The Lynx may accelerate quickly from 0-100 kph in a little under 14 seconds, but it glides on roads smoothly and quietly at low speeds. Down and up shifts are superb without any annoying clunkiness. Thanks to Ford’s L-NVH (low noise, vibration and harshness) efforts, bumpy roads and jeepney-infested streets will no longer get on your nerves.

Some trim levels also offer leather seating and a 6-disc CD Changer that provides convenient access when loading and changing CDs. The Lynx’s audio components churn out a satisfactory sound quality although it’s a factory standard system. Other standard interior features include:

Ford Lynx Exterior
Pre-2002 models of the Lynx had tail lamps and rims that many might say are awkward or “not so elegant” in comparison to the later year models. Fortunately, updates to the 2002 model and onwards stepped in the right direction. The Ford Lynx Ghia 2002, for instance, sported a new age design with better upgrades that led to more positive Ford Lynx reviews.
- Clear rear combination tail lamps
- Projector headlamps
- Sleek slotted grille
- Moon roof
- Fog lamps
