The Hyundai Sonata is a midsize car that has been in production since 1985. The first generation, which was basically a facelifted Hyundai Stellar, only lasted two years in the market. Production was discontinued in 1988 due to poor customer feedback. For this reason, the second generation is often considered the original Sonata.
