New and Used Hyundai Sonata for Sale Philippines 2018
The Hyundai Sonata is a midsize car that has been in production since 1985. The first generation, which was basically a facelifted Hyundai Stellar, only lasted two years in the market. Production was discontinued in 1988 due to poor customer feedback. For this reason, the second generation is often considered the original Sonata. On the heels of a disappointing first generation, Hyundai immediately went to work on the second generation Sonata, with the aim to target overseas markets after the Hyundai Excel’s resounding success in the North American market.
The model was launched in 1988, to coincide with Korea’s hosting of that year’s Olympic Games. It was the first sedan to employ a front-wheel drive system among mid-size cars. By the time the third generation Sonata rolled out, the Hyundai Sonata Philippines had already managed to gain a foothold overseas. Some of the awards and recognitions it has received in the past include Best Bet for 2018, 5-Year Cost to Own Award for the year 2018 and it was considered a Best Family Car by Kelley Blue Book.
