Oil firms end price hike streak to start Jul. 2025

MANILA: Motorists can have their sighs of relief as fuel companies shall put an end to the string of major price hikes implemented this month.

    Meanwhile, Department of Energy Officer-in-Charge Sharon Garin said that in addition to the anticipated fuel price rollback, additional cuts will be given to drivers of public utility vehicles (PUV), non-PUV units, and transport network vehicles. She added that discounts may vary given that they have their own mechanisms for implementing such (dates, promotional offers, and loyalty programs).

    Earlier, Grab Philippines devised a plan to would help their driver- and rider-partners amid the rising fuel prices.

    Last week, local players conducted a two-part price hike. This was attributed to the rising global oil prices caused by geopolitical tensions between Iran and Israel and market volatility.
