How to Create an Advert on Carmudi
Thinking of selling your car? Carmudi’s easy-to-use interface and wide audience base will surely make it easy to sell your vehicle online. But we’re getting way ahead of ourselves here. Before your car will be posted online, you need to create an effective advertisement for your car first. And the first step is to write a good ad for your car listing.
## How to write a good advertisement on Carmudi
An effective advertisement is the most valuable thing you need to do when selling your vehicle, because it attracts potential buyers and filters out the qualified (and unqualified) ones from your list. But more importantly, a good advertisement will help sell your car at a satisfactory price.
Many effective online ads have two things in common: they’re honest and well-detailed. You can achieve them by following these guidelines:
### Give a detailed description of your vehicle
Details are important, especially when a buyer is comparing cars. For instance, adding that your car windows are heavily tinted might sound trivial, but some people would be willing to pay extra for that same feature. Now, when comparing your ad between others that offer no detailed information about car windows, which do you think would stand out?
While this can be an extreme example, every car should always begin with the basics, which include the car’s:
- Model, make, body style, and mileage
- Trim or version (trim is the exterior and interior options that are added to the car model, such as upgraded engine or wheels, leather seats, enhanced safety features, and etc.)
### Mention your asking price
Check out other ads that sell the same car model that you have so you’ll get an idea about how much to sell your car. Thankfully, these details are included in Carmudi’s platform, so you don’t have to mention them in your ad. However, what you should focus on is writing your car’s description. You can use this to:
### Explain your reasons for selling your vehicle
This is a common question that buyers ask, so make it easier for them by providing your answers here.
### Highlight updates, upgrades, modifications, and other significant changes
Is your car fuel-efficient? Then mention it here. Fuel-saving cars are actually in demand right now. Added new stereos and a subwoofer? Installed a new, state-of-the-art alarm system? Or have you customized your tires? Believe it or not, specialty tires can seal the deal with many buyers.
### Add your warranty information
Make sure to mention that our car still under warranty in your description. Clarify if it’s transferable, and list what kind of car coverage you have and for how long. For instance:
Manufacturer’s warranty coverage can be transferred (for a fee)
17 months left on Basic Warranty Coverage
Remember to include whether or not the buyer will cover the required fee for transferring a warranty. Also, some car manufacturers have different warranty coverages when it comes to second owners, so make sure to clarify this first.
### Mention car issues that might need some fixing
It’s better to be upfront right from the start. If your car has some minor dents, or the aircon is not working, then mention it in your description. That way, you don’t waste your time—or theirs.
### Add your maintenance and service records
Now’s the time to boast how much you’ve taken good care of your car. Mention this to your description, including regular oil changes. If you have a copy of your maintenance records, mention this as well to back up your claims of caring well for your car.
Here is an example of an ad:
Selling car to live overseas. Car runs 37 mpg, and engine’s brand new. Regular oil changes and scheduled maintenance, with records and reports available. 5 months left on powertrain warranty. Upgraded to leather seats. Non-smoker, with pets. Car has a minor dent and 2 scratches on the rear due to a parking mishap. Upgraded the audio system—bluetooth, mp3, and wifi ready. Added side air bags, GPS and cupholders on the passenger seats. Price negotiable. Only accepts cash or check for payment.
