Mitsubishi Cars for Sale Philippines
Mitsubishi might have lost some track in the middle by having a slow approach in the fast-moving automotive market of the Philippines. But gradually, the Japanese carmaker is finally making a comeback, although at a slow pace, by bringing in the latest of its products, primarily SUVs and crossovers. While Mitsubishi might not be as aggressive as other its traditional rivals in the Philippines, the carmaker has had a glorious history in the market here with some of the finest products across all the segments. This is why, apart from the new car market, Mitsubishi is a trusted brand in the used car market as well.
Mitsubishi has managed to gain such amount of trust by a lot of factors. Firstly, the Japanese carmaker has had some very capable products, some of which were segment best in terms of the performance they had offered in their respective segments. And secondly, all of the products from Mitsubishi have possessed the typical levels of reliability and longevity Japanese products are known for.
Currently, Mitsubishi is having a limited but versatile product lineup, starting with a hatchback (Mirage), a sedan (Mirage G4), three SUVs/crossovers (Xpander Cross, Outlander PHEV, and Montero Sport), one MPV (Xpander), and three pickups (Strada, Strada Athlete and L300). Also, Mitsubishi has had some very fine products in the past as well, including two sedans (Lancer and Lancer EX), two MPVs (Adventure and Fuzion) and three SUVs (ASX and Pajero) and one sports coupe (Eclipse), all of which are available in the used car market as listed at Carmudi.
Mitsubishi SUVs for Sale
Like its traditional rivals from Japanese, Mitsubishi is having deep expertise in making some of the finest SUVs and crossovers, both the traditional ladder on frame as well as the more modern monocoque ones. The current SUV lineup comprises of a compact seven-seater crossover namely Mitsubishi Xpander Cross and two SUVs in the midsize segment – the monocoque fiver seater Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and the more rugged ladder on frame seven-seater Mitsubishi Montero Sport. Also, in addition, Mitsubishi has sold a couple of SUVs before as well – the compact crossover Mitsubishi ASX as well as the legendary Mitsubishi Pajero.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Mitsubishi SUVs Philippines
Advantages:
- Mitsubishi offers bulletproof reliability and builds quality with its range of SUVs and crossovers, which are designed to last for very long.
- When it comes to off-road prowess, the Montero Sport and Pajero are some of the finest SUVs to have ever been made available in Philippines.
Disadvantages:
- When it comes to comfort and convenience features, the SUVs from Mitsubishi somewhat lack the extensiveness of their rivals.
- The ladder on frame SUVs from Mitsubishi feels bumpy when it comes to ride and handling.

Mitsubishi MPVs for Sale
The one segment where Mitsubishi has had tasted tremendous success with each and every product it brought in is that of the MPVs, either small or big. In the past, both the Adventure as well as Fuzion sold in great numbers, and the success streak is still on with the Xpander compact MPV in the current times. Mitsubishi replaced the aging Adventure with the Xpander, which might be smaller and less spacious than the former, but looks much more striking and packs in a lot of modernity in comparison.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Mitsubishi MPVs Philippines
Advantages:
- All the Mitsubishi MPVs, either old or new, do score a lot of brownie points when it comes to space management, as all the three rows pack in a generous amount of space.
- The Mitsubishi MPVs are also very affordable to maintain, which adds in a trust factor to their long-term reliability.
Disadvantages:
- The older MPVs from Mitsubishi (Adventure and Fuzion) lacked many comfort and convenience features in their respective categories.
- The new Xpander looks too aggressive for a compact MPV, which might not impress the traditional and more mature MPV buyers who prefer subtlety.

Mitsubishi Sedans for Sale
While Mitsubishi hasn’t exploited the segment of sedans like its arch-rivals from Japan like Honda, Nissan, and Toyota, the Japanese carmaker has brought in a couple of its legendary offerings in the past in the form of Lancer and its more modern iteration, the Lancer EX. However, currently, given the reduction in popularity of sedans in a whole as compared to SUVs and crossovers, Mitsubishi is playing safe by having only one sedan in its lineup, in the form of the compact entry level Mirage G4.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Mitsubishi Sedans Philippines
Advantages:
- The older Mitsubishi sedans, Lancer and Lancer EX, are well known for their amazing driving dynamics and are perceived as great driver’s car in the entry-level sedan space.
- The Mitsubishi sedans offer great value for the price they ask, offering a fine balance between performance, space and fuel economy.
Disadvantages:
- The overall build quality, as well as fit and finish levels of sedans from Mitsubishi, is not as fine and flawless as what its traditional Japanese rivals have been offering.
- The Mitsubishi Mirage G4 feels dated and pale when compared to other compact sedans in the new car market.

Mitsubishi Hatchbacks for Sale
While other Japanese car makers like Toyota, Honda, and Suzuki openly participated in the entry level compact hatchback space with their respective offerings, Mitsubishi haven’t tried to cash in the potential of this segment. In all these years, Mitsubishi has projected itself as a primary maker of SUVs and MPVs, and has had only the compact and quite basic Mirage as its only hatchback to date in the Philippines car market. For the future too, Mitsubishi has no plans in expanding its presence in the hatchback segment.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Mitsubishi Hatchbacks Philippines
Advantages:
- The Mitsubishi Mirage feels spacious and comfortable for an entry-level hatchback.
- The fuel efficiency of the Mitsubishi Mirage is on the higher side, which makes it very economic and pocket-friendly.
Disadvantages:
- Mitsubishi has compromised on quality with the Mirage, as the hatchback lacks the fit and finish levels and features of its peers.
- The petrol engine of the Mitsubishi Mirage is fuel efficient, but lacks the zing and performance and feels lethargic for long runs.
Mitsubishi Vans and Pickups for Sale
This is one segment, where all the Japanese car makers have had active participation, and Mitsubishi has been selling a couple of hugely capable pickups like the very basic L300 as well as the more lifestyle oriented and premium Strada. Later on, Mitsubishi came up with a sportier iteration of the Strada – the Strada Athlete, which offers a number of additional equipment over the basic Strada.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Mitsubishi Vans and Pickups Philippines
Advantages:
- Mitsubishi pickups offer tremendous capabilities in the form of their load-carrying capacity and ruggedness even in the toughest of driving conditions.
- The Mitsubishi pickups prove to be quite economic and reliable in the long run, for the pocket friendly maintenance costs they project.
Disadvantages:
- The pickups from Mitsubishi are powered by diesel engines, which do not feel as modern and refined, and need to work on refinement levels.
- The L300 feels too basic when it comes to visual appeal and equipment levels.
Mitsubishi Sports Cars for Sale
Mitsubishi never brought in the hugely acclaimed Lancer EVO to the Philippines shores, which is the finest sports car the Japanese carmaker has ever made in its entire history. However, Mitsubishi did sell a convertible sports coupe in the form of Eclipse in the past. While the Eclipse moniker proudly sits on a crossover now in other global markets, the Mitsubishi Eclipse was a decent two door convertible car that did offer decent performance levels and visual appeal at the time of its existence.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Mitsubishi Sports Cars Philippines
Advantages:
- The overall design of the Mitsubishi Eclipse felt very sleek and eye catching in those times, and command a decent road presence even today
- The overall performance and driving dynamics of the Mitsubishi Eclipse felt very easy to handle even for the new drivers.
Disadvantages:
- The Mitsubishi Eclipse felt quite basic for a two-door sports car, when it comes to equipment levels.
- Due to its low sales in its period of existence, the Mitsubishi Eclipse is not easily available in the used car market.
