New and Used Subaru BRZ for Sale Philippines 2019
There are only two things you can do with a Subaru BRZ: You’ll either love it, or you’ll love it a lot. We go for the second one, since the Subaru BRZ has become one of the most sought after cars in the sports car market today. In fact, the BRZ has even won several awards along the way, such as Fun-est Car of the Year by Top Gear Australia, 2012 Sports Car of the Year by France's Echappement, 2013 Best Sports Car by Canada's Auto123, 2018 Best Sports Coupe cars by Car and Driver.com’s, and 2018 Best Overall Brand by Kelly Blue Book.com.
Don’t be deceived by its youthful, racer-like appearance though—it’s a true blue sports car at heart. Its affordable price (compared to other sports cars in the market today), classic race car appearance, excellent fuel economy, and balanced handling and maneuverability, tops the list of reasons why you should love the Subaru BRZ like we do (and when we say that, we mean a LOT). The Subaru BRZ, which stands for Boxer-Engine Rear-Wheel-Drive Zenith, is a compact sports coupe touted to be on–or if not—the most fuel-efficient coupes on the market. It is also one of the few Subarus that is not equipped with an all-wheel drive. For this reason, the BRZ has become one of the most spotlighted marques in the Japanese automaker’s fleet.
Designed and produced alongside Toyota, the BRZ was initially introduced in 2013, and shares the same base platform with the Toyota GT86 and its subsidiary, the Scion FR-S. The goal of the partnership was to build a fast machine while splitting the costs of production in order to create the most affordable thrill rides in the market. At a price that’s less than half of what’s considered “cheap” in the sports car segment, it appears the partnership bore great fruit.
The Subaru BRZ coupe was originally sold in manual and automatic variants. Essentially unchanged since its launch, the main difference is that Subaru has now released a limited Hyperblue series in the U.S, which comes in an upgraded trim package compared to the standard model. Sadly, this series is not available in Subaru dealerships in the Philippines, so you may have to import it from the U.S. Sports cars don’t really have a huge market in the Philippines, but for those who secretly want to indulge in their Fast and the Furious fantasies, they can also opt for Mazda MX-5, Nissan 370Z and Porsche Cayman.

The New Subaru BRZ 2018 in the Philippines Has Been Finally Revealed
Subaru BRZ 2019 in the Philippines
How is the 2019 Subaru BRZ different from the 2017 model?
The 2018 Subaru BRZ was released in 2015 and is available locally, so it’s basically a carryover from the previous year. No major changes are seen, although minor tweaks were done on the new Starling Multimedia System, which now carries a lot of cool features, such as the informational entertainment and cyber-connection functions.
- Tilt/Telescoping Steering
- Torsen Limited-Slip Differential
- Power Windows and Mirrors
- Hyperblue Series
What is new about the Subaru BRZ 2019 design?
When it first came out, the BRZ was kind of an outsider from Subaru’s line of vehicles, and this holds true with the vehicle’s latest version. Subaru’s major market is plush wagons and crossovers, so the back-to-basics aesthetic and sports car configuration of the BRZ kind of makes it a pariah of sorts, but this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, isn’t it?
- Abbreviated trunk
- Long hood
- Dramatic headlight cluster
- Intermittent wipers
What are Subaru BRZ 2019 specs and features?
The new BRZ may have a much lower engine power compared to other sports cars, but it compensates by using carbon fiber on its exterior to reduce the weight by a considerable margin so it’s lighter and more aerodynamic. Its responsive steering wheel gives great control even during sharp turns, and its light, well-balanced chassis gives great handling on the road.
What are Subaru BRZ 2019 prices in the Philippines?
The 2018 Subaru BRZ is a racing marvel, thanks to its topnotch performance and track-tuned efficiency. But we haven’t gone to the juiciest part yet: its price. Yes, this car is affordable for a sports car, and with a long list of impressive features, the BRZ is truly a “huge steal.” The price of a Subaru BRZ base model 2.0 A/T (Coupe, Gasoline, Automatic) is P2,058,000.00.

Subaru BRZ Specs and Performance
Powering the current Subaru BRZ Philippines is a 2.0-liter 4-Cylinder Subaru Boxer Engine with a Toyota D4-S Fuel Injection System mated to either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The Subaru BRZ engine is capable of delivering a 200 hp output and 205 Nm peak torque. Though the manual is where the engine truly excels, those who go with the automatic won’t feel disappointed, as the version comes with a “Sport” mode that sharpens shifts immensely.
We have to admit that the Subaru BRZ’s four-cylinder engine may not be as strong as other engines found in other sports cars today. What it has, however, is a refined, improved performance and drive-ability that makes for better maneuvering on the road. Highly-versatile, you can use it while braving through the Metro traffic or frolicking for some weekend fun of speed racing with friends.
Subaru BRZ Fuel Consumption
Below is a list of some popular Subaru BRZ years and their fuel consumption rates:

- Subaru BRZ 2016: 9.7 l/100km
- Subaru BRZ 2015: 8.7 l/100km
- Subaru BRZ 2014: 8.8 l/100km
- Subaru BRZ 2013: 8.5 l/100km

The latest BRZ comes with a range of passive and active safety systems, helping the Subaru sports car earn great scores in the crash tests conducted by various safety rating boards and bodies. Here is a breakdown of the safety features in the BRZ:

- Traction Control System (TCS)
- Antilock braking system (ABS)

Subaru BRZ Design
Subaru BRZ Interior
A minimalistic design approach is apparent in the BRZ’s cabin, which is meant to keep the driver focused on the road and not anywhere else. This means that it comes with standard interior materials and trims. Toyota and Subaru announced their plans to build a new 2017 model, and some car reviewers are hoping that interior styling will be more enhanced the next time around.
- Climate control air conditioner
- Door pockets w/ bottle holder
- Heated front seats
- Sport Tachometer
- Leather Alcantara trim
- Paddle shifters
Subaru BRZ Exterior
Flared fender lines, sculpted flanks, elongated hood, an arched roof and shiny five-spoke wheels—it seems every aspect of the BRZ is designed to earn some racing stripes. From the front, the hood looks especially low—an indication of the vehicle’s low center of gravity and eagerness to run fast. The dual exhaust, meticulously shaped sheet metal and blacked-out rear valance are all unique to the BRZ.
While the BRZ and 86 look almost identical, there are some minor distinctions that make them different from each other. The Subaru BRZ sports a different front fascia, headlight assembly, and front fender vent compared to the Toyota 86. The grill is also different, with BRZ’s grille more hexagonal in shape compared to Toyota’s trapezoidal structure.
- Rear diffuser
- Aerodynamic bodywork
- 17” alloy wheels
- HID headlamp
- Fog lamps
- Headlamp washers
Subaru BRZ Color Options
Car buyers interested in the BRZ get to choose from seven unique and richly textured colors:
- Crystal Black Silica
- Crystal White Pearl
- Dark Grey Metallic
- Ice Silver Metallic
- Lapis Blue Pearl
- Pure Red
- WR Blue Pearl
