Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) participated in the 10th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) by putting its Outlander PHEV and the Dendo Drive House (DDH) system front and center.
The Japanese automotive manufacturer’s local arm exhibited its plug-in hybrid offering and the smart-home system in the country’s biggest EV convention being held at the SMX Convention Center to highlight its effort in providing products that would push for sustainable mobility.
According to MMPC, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV — which is the world's first plug-in hybrid electric SUV — has already sold more than 260,000 units across Europe, North America, Japan and Australia.
“The Outlander PHEV is the result of Mitsubishi’s long-time development of electrification technology, 4WD expertise, and Super All-Wheel Control or S-AWC technology. This vehicle offers energy efficiency and a smooth driving experience by utilizing a twin-motor 4WD system and a unique PHEV architecture,” the company noted.
On the other hand, the company’s DDH features its vehicle-to-home energy ecosystem. The structure (which is made up of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, a bi-directional charger, solar panels and an electric storage facility) allows customers to juice up their EV units with solar-generated energy.
Apart from that, MMPC explained that the DDH also has the capacity to supply electricity to one’s home, lessening the customer's dependence on the grid to run appliances.
Further, MMPC noted that the DDH technology and the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV’s external power can serve as a back-up generator and be a reliable source of electricity during power outages and other emergencies.
Meanwhile, the firm is inviting the public to visit its booth at the two-day summit to learn more about the Outlander PHEV and the DDH technology.
