Through the campaign, Nissan is poised to create key partnerships with various organizations to help address social concerns such as disaster response, climate change, responsible travel, and energy management with the use of electric vehicle technologies.
Those present during the ceremony include Department of Energy (DOE) Energy Utilization Management Bureau Director Patrick Aquino; Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) President Edmund Araga; eSakay Incorporated Chief Operating Officer Karl Magsuci; Gateway Group Executive Vice President Michael Goho; Power Equipment and Supply Inc. (PESIN) President and Chief Executive Officer Jojo Conde II; Gawad Kalinga Executive Director Luis Oquiñena; Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation Chief Resilience Officer Guillermo Luz; as well as MAD Travel Operations Manager Anjo Joaquin.
According to Nissan Philippines, the organizations have pledged its support to the Blue Switch initiative through public education, community action, and coalition-building.
"We are taking our vision to shape a safer and more resilient future for the Philippines through the Blue Switch campaign. We hope to address the needs and enrich the lives of Filipinos by leveraging the unique capabilities of electric vehicles for purposes beyond mobility," Nissan Philippines President Juan Manuel Hoyos said.
Apart from that, Nissan Philippines was also the 10th PEVS’ co-presenter for the event that is themed “United in Driving Electromobility in Support of the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA).”
Further, the event was also utilized to present the new Nissan Leaf.
Sporting a refreshed exterior and interior design, the new Leaf features the new company badge with a redesigned grille spoiler and under diffuser, blacked-out headlamps, 16-inch alloy wheels.
Moreover, the latest iteration of the Leaf comes with a full suite of Nissan Intelligent Mobility features, which include the e-Pedal, intelligent forward collision warning with intelligent emergency braking, lane departure warning with intelligent lane intervention, and intelligent around view monitor with moving object detection — among others.
Nissan Philippines said that the EV offering is being retailed by the Gateway Motors group in the Philippines for P2.79 million. The vehicle can be purchased at the following dealerships:
