11th PH EV Summit: BYD PH slashes pricing of local offerings
During the first day of the 11th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit, BYD Philippines announced the new and reduced pricing for its local lineup.

BYD Philippines will now use CCS 2 chargers for all its vehicles in the country.“BYD would democratize EV ownership in the Philippines,” said AC Motors President Antonio Zara.
“The BYD Dolphin’s price will be adjusted to P1.398 million… The BYD Dolphin now is more affordable than a subcompact vehicle if you would consider the savings in fuel and the savings in maintenance,” Zara noted.
“Similarly, we are adjusting the price of the BYD Han to P3.113 million, and the Tang to P3.321 million,” he added.
In addition, Zara also revealed that BYD vehicles in the Philippines will begin using Combined Charging System (CCS) 2 charging protocol.
Further, Zara noted that not only is CC2 a charging protocol recommended by the Philippine government, but it is also the charging protocol that Ayala will be using as it expands its charging infrastructure.
The announcements made by the AC Motors President could make electric vehicle ownership in the Philippines more viable due to better pricing of BYD models and a promise of a charging infrastructure that is not only compatible with a wide range of models but also offers better reach for frequent travelers.
