1,605 EDSA Busway violators caught from Jan.-May 2024
A total of 1,605 vehicles violating the Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) Busway directive have been apprehended from January-May 2024.

The Department of Transportation outlined the types of vehicles that can use the said special lane. On top of buses plying the said route, only the below are allowed to pass through the said way:
- Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board-authorized buses, including bases with special permits and/or franchises to operate on the EDSA Busway route;
- On-duty ambulances, fire trucks, and Philippine National Police vehicles; and
- Service vehicles performing their duties for the EDSA Busway Project, including but not limited to construction, security, janitorial, and maintenance services within the EDSA Busway.
In a report by Zigwheels Philippines — sister platform of Carmudi Philippines — the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said that heftier fines await those who will violate the said ruling.
The fine will range from P5,000-P30,000 plus recommendation to the Land Transportation Office for revocation of driver’s license.
