As expected, the incoming 2022 Subaru BRZ has already secured a strong following even before reaching local roads as the initial batch is already reserved to customers.
Based on the tip shared to Carmudi Philippines, the first set of the upcoming sports car from Motor Image Pilipinas already has owners.
Earlier, Tan Chong Limited Deputy Chairman and Managing Director Glenn Tan said that the aforementioned model will officially be unveiled at next year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) in April.
“Technically, the first batch is already spoken for with the numerous reservations received,” the source told, adding that the first batch is less than 100 units.
Those who are still thinking of getting the highly-anticipated twin of the Toyota GR86 might have to wait a little longer as the distributor would unlikely release a unit prior to the scheduled local reveal.
This Japan-sourced model is powered by a 2.4-liter horizontally-opposed boxer engine that can deliver 228hp and has 15 percent stronger pulling power compared to its predecessor. This model will be retailed in two options, the manual (priced at P2.399 million) and automatic with Eyesight (P2.499 million).
The Subaru BRZ will be one of the models that are set to be introduced next year. The string of vehicle launches for Subaru Philippines include the new Subaru Forester as well as the sedan and wagon versions of the Subaru WRX.
