With more than 800,000 units produced since its launch in 2016, the Peugeot 3008 is easily one of the French automotive manufacturer’s most successful releases. Now, Peugeot looks to make the popular SUV even more enticing with updates to tech and appearance, as well as adding greener powertrain options.
Starting with the aesthetic enhancements, the 3008’s inspired new design sports a retooled front fascia, new full LED taillights, a “Black Pack” option, and new body colors to choose from.
The front fascia now looks more like the rest of Peugeot’s current lineup, giving the roster the uniformity strived for by many car brands today. The new face is characterized by a frameless grille that achieves a three-dimensional look with its stylized mesh. Peugeot’s signature vertical slit-type daytime running lights are also present in the 3008, bookended by faux air duct covers.
The 3D effect is mirrored at the rear, courtesy of the new design of the signature triple-claw taillights, now fully LED, as mentioned.
Peugeot prides itself of giving customers the power of choice, and the number of powertrain options make this obvious—3008 customers get to choose between Puretech gas (1.2-liter, 1.6-liter) and BlueHDi diesel (1.5-liter, 2.0-liter) engines, plus a new rechargeable hybrid engine, bringing the total variant options up to over 25 in all.
In addition, the 3008 is also available in either two-wheel-drive or four-wheel drive options and in either 6-speed manual or 8-speed Efficient Automatic Transmission, making it easier to find a 3008 SUV to suit your particular driving needs.
Globally, the new Peugeot 3008 is available in three trim levels—GT, Allure, and Active—each with its own set of aftermarket accessories known as a "pack,” made up of several additional exterior and interior kits. The pack for the top-of-the-line GT even comes with new 19-inch diamond-studded aluminum wheels.
The French carmaker is also offering a “Black Pack” to enhance the sporty appeal of the new SUV. This package dresses up the 3008 with blacked-out accessories for the front grille, front fender trims, roof trim, roof bars, rear bumper sill, spoiler trim, and door bottoms, matched with blackened emblems and monograms. A set of special 19-inch black mist and black onyx finished wheels round out the package.
Tech-wise, the new SUV PEUGEOT 3008 comes with the latest-generation driving aids, as well as a revamped PEUGEOT i-Cockpit infotainment system complete with a new high-quality display headset and a new 10-inch high-definition touchscreen capable of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Depending on the country of sale, the new SUV PEUGEOT 3008 can be purchased on the "PEUGEOT STORE" online sales site, which offers 100% digital purchase, trade-in, financing and delivery options.
Pricing and release date of the new Peugeot 3008 is yet to be announced, but the car is expected to debut in Europe within the next six months, with other markets soon to follow, which hopefully includes the Philippines.
