Debuting in 2014, the Toyota Wigo quickly emerged as a favorite among first-time car buyers. That's because the entry-level hatchback, despite its miniscule dimensions, even then didn't compromise on features.
Also known as the Agya in other markets, the Wigo offers style, too, especially when it was updated last year. Now, the car has an angrier-looking front end and projector halogen headlights. Inside, the interior was given a new instrument cluster and aircon controls.
The four variants of the Wigo (1.0 E MT, 1.0 G MT, 1.0 G AT, and TRD-S AT) are all equipped with a one-liter three-cylinder engine, which is capable of delivering 66hp and 89Nm of torque. MT Wigo cars have a five-speed stick, while AT versions use a four-speed auto.
It may be the entry-level Wigo, but this particular variant is still equipped with the exterior styling upgrades, as well as a redesigned interior similar with the higher variants.
As for features, the E gets a knob-type air-conditioner, and a 2DIN audio system with radio, Aux, USB, CD and Bluetooth. The driver faces a three-spoke urethane steering wheel, minus the audio switches.
The previous base model offered manual windows compared to its higher-variant brothers. In the latest upgrade, Toyota added power windows to the Wigo's equipment list.
Both the Wigo G MT and AT get the LCD aircon control switches, and a touchscreen display audio system along with the additional steering wheel switches.
This variants are also equipped with 14-inch machine-cut alloy wheels, which are also found in the higher variants. Retractable side mirrors, push-start ignition, and keyless entry round out the Wigo G's convenience features.
For safety, the trim level adds an anti-theft system and built-in alarm.
The star among the Wigo variants is this TRD S. A majority of the changes are seen in its exterior, with a different lighting system, rear skirts, TRD side skirts, front spoiler, a two-tone rear spoiler, and TRD S badges and decals inspired by Toyota Racing Development.
With the redesigned bumper, a slight increase in its length is noticeable at 3,700 millimeters, compared to the other variants with only 3,660mm.
The Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatible infotainment audio is also unique to the Wigo TRD S.
With all the same features available from the G variants, like reversing camera and keyless entry, Toyota threw in a dashboard camera for added security.
