Audi Philippines announced that the 2022 Audi Q5 crossover is now available locally, and boasts a more athletic design and upgraded technology.
Offered in two trims namely the S Line TFSI (gasoline) and the S Line TDI (diesel), the newest iteration of the Audi Q5 received the Top Safety Pick+ award from the US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
The 2022 Audi Q5 S Line TFSI’s 2.0-liter, four-cylin der, turbocharged gasoline engine has the capability to produce 265hp and 370Nm. On the other hand, the 2022 Audi Q5 S Line TDI’s 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine can provide 204hp and 400Nm.
These two powertrain options are both matched to a seven-speed S-Tronic transmission, which sends power to a quattro permanent all-wheel drive system.
Also, these two engine options have a mild hybrid system that aids in consuming less fuel.
“A belt-driven starter/generator incorporating a compact lithium-ion battery recuperates braking energy, then stores this in the battery. The mild hybrid system enables the 2022 Audi Q5 to coast with the engine off, and allows for start-stop mode at speeds below 22kph, boosting fuel efficiency while also reducing emissions,” Audi Philippines shared in a statement.
Meanwhile, the 2022 Audi Q5 is fitted with Matrix LED headlamps with adaptable high beam technology that flank the wider octagonal Singleframe grille design.
The latest model features a “lighter” look that can be attributed to the redesigned sill inserts. It also has a new diffuser insert with a horizontal fin, and an S Line roof spoiler at the back portion of the vehicle.
Further, the 2022 Audi Q5 S Line TFSI has a black appearance package, black roof rails and 21-inch wheels in five-twin-spoke module design, while the S Line TDI version has aluminum roof rails and 20-inch with 10-Y-spoke design.
For its interior, the 2022 Audi Q5 wears a myriad of intuitive technological features like the Audi virtual cockpit plus and the MMI navigation plus with MMI touch response.
Other premium features which define the 2022 Audi Q5 are leather sport seats in front; three-spoke, flat-bottom leather steering wheel with multifunction plus controls; electronic parking brake; push-button engine start/stop; auto-dimming frameless rearview mirror; three-zone climate control system; air quality package; ambient LED interior lighting package; sunshade for the rear windows; Bang and Olufsen Premium Sound System and a USB charging interface for passengers in the back. The S Line illuminated aluminum scuff plates further promote a luxurious feel in the SUV’s interior.
