Following its global market launch early this year, the latest generation of the Suzuki’s sport bike, Hayabusa, has already made its presence felt in the Philippine market.
Suzuki Philippines (SPH) brought the peregrine falcon-inspired bike with an aim to “raise the bar of greater refinement, dignity and riding pleasure.”
Since its inception in 1999, the said model has proven its popularity after delivering 115,000 units to customers. The second generation of the Hayabusa — with upgraded the front brakes and anti-lock brakes — added 74,100 units to previous number, bringing the total to more than 189,000 units.
“Now the third-generation Hayabusa leverages the latest technological innovations to provide greater control and comfort, and ultimately to assist riders in gaining confidence as they enjoy outings on the ‘Ultimate Sport Bike.'” These changes over the years are a true reflection of continuous refinement and ultimate performance,” added the company in a release.
Now available for reservations in showrooms today, the latest Hayabusa sports the features such as Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS), Suzuki Drive Mode Selector Alpha (SDMS-α) that has three factory preset and three user definable modes that include the following:
Apart from SIRS, the newest offering is equipped with Active Speed Limiter, Launch Control System (3 modes), Emergency Stop Signal, Suzuki Easy Start System, Low RPM Assist, Cruise Control, Combined Brake System, Motion Track Brake, Slope Dependent Control, and Hill Hold Control.
Further, the latest version of the Suzuki Hayabusa is fitted with electric equipment features:
“These features are delightfully inviting especially for Filipino riders who wish to experience the power and performance of this legendary ride,” SPH shared.
Moreover, SPH claimed that the features that the all-new Hayabusa possesses are “elegant styling which showcases the marriage of both power and poise... The goal was to visually express the intelligence embodied in the electronic control systems that enhance and advance the riding experience and skillfully marry these with bold styling befitting a magnificent beast whose stance screams of power, performance, poise and keen perceptive abilities. The result is a due tribute to the Japanese peregrine falcon from which the Hayabusa takes its name."
The new Suzuki Hayabusa is powered by a four-stroke, liquid-cooled in-line four DOHC 1,340-cc engine paired to a six-speed constant mesh transmission.
It is available in three colors: Glass Sparkle Black/Candy Burnt Gold, Metallic Mat Sword Silver/Candy Daring Red, and Pearl Brilliant White/Metallic Mat Stellar Blue). The all-new Suzuki Hayabusa is priced at ₱1.088 million.
