Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) announced that the 2022 season of its one-make-race series, the Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Cup, will start next month.
The leading local automotive distributor said that the three legs of the much-awaited race series will be held at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga starting July 2.
What makes the upcoming series more fun is that racing fans can see the live racing action and hear the roars of vehicles and aficionados from the grandstand. TMP noted that while the event can now be seen on-site, the TGR Vios Cup 2022 will continue to be livestreamed on the Toyota Motor Philippines and Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines Facebook pages.
The TGR Vios Cup 2022 will have two main events: the Circuit Championship and Autocross Challenge.
Just like before, the Circuit Championship will comprise of top racing teams in the country with their seasoned and up-and-coming drivers that are ready to undergo wheel-to-wheel action as they vie for podium finishes in the Super Sporting, Sporting, and Promotional categories.
Meanwhile, the autocross challenge provides more fun and excitement as celebrities, influencers, and members of the media test their skills as they navigate their way to victory through a specially-designed race course.
Further, TMP said that the champions of the Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup will also compete in the aforementioned autocross series.
“Over the years, the TGR Vios Cup has been serving as a vehicle for us to champion the local racers, and to bring the thrill of racing to everyone. We thank our ever-growing community of racers and motorsports fans for their support which makes the TGR Vios Cup one of the biggest, and longest-running racing events in the Philippines,” TMP First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations Sherwin Chualim said.
“With the event welcoming the public to the grandstand once again, it’s the perfect way to bring together the ambitious spirit of the racers and the rousing energy of the fans.”
Moreover, TMP said that the admission is free and only vaccination cards must be presented to be allowed to enter the speedway.
Legs 2 and 3 of the TGR Vios Cup 2022 will happen in August and November respectively.
Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Cup is organized in cooperation with Bridgestone and Petron, and is supported by Brembo, Denso, OMP, Tuason Racing, AVT, 3M, ROTA, My Toyota Wallet, and Kinto One.
