The 2023 Kia EV6 got the 2022 Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS).
According to Korean automotive marque, the EV6 earned a "Good" rating in all six crashworthiness tests namely the driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraint tests. In addition, the electric vehicle (EV) also earned a "Superior" rating for available front crash prevention vehicle-to-vehicle and (daytime) vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations, and another "Good" rating for standard headlights.
“The EV6 is a landmark addition to our lineup and it has received massive consumer interest in its first year. We are proud that the 2023 EV6 received a 2022 Top Safety Pick+ award, reflecting Kia’s commitment to innovative products that prioritize safety and performance,” said Kia America Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President Steven Center.
Kia’s 2023 EV6 is the third vehicle from the South Korean automotive brand to earn a Top Safety Pick+ award. The other two are the 2022 Kia K5 and 2022 Stinger. Furthermore, seven Kia vehicles have earned a Top Safety Pick award from IIHS, these are the 2022 Kia Telluride, 2022 Kia Sorento, 2022 Kia Seltos, 2022 Kia Carnival, 2022 Kia Sportage, 2023 Kia Sportage, and the 2022 Kia Soul.
To note, Kia Philippines will officially carry the EV6 nameplate starting early next year. It is expected to be priced below P4 million.
