30-day toll holiday to be implemented in CAVITEX

30-day toll holiday will be conducted on Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) beginning July 1.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • When will CAVITEX start the 30-day toll holiday?

The toll holiday will be conducted starting July 1, 2024.
  • What CAVITEX exits will be covered in the toll holiday?

The toll holiday will be experienced in the following CAVITEX exits: Kawit, Paranaque, C5 Link segment Merville and Taguig, and newly-inaugurated Segment 2 (Sucat Interchange).
  • The said initiative will be implemented after the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) approved the proposal from the Philippine Reclamation Authority — with the agreement and consent of its joint venture partner CAVITEX Infrastructure Corporation (CIC).

According to CIC President and General Manager Raul Ignacio, the company will not collect toll fees within the said period in all CAVITEX exits for all vehicle categories. “This will help our motorists with the rising cost of fuel and inflation,” Ignacio shared.

Regardless of the vehicle class, motorists get to use the following CAVITEX exits for free: Kawit, Paranaque, C5 Link segment Merville and Taguig, and newly-inaugurated Segment 2 (Sucat Interchange).

It was during the recent opening of the CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 2 when President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced that expressway segments under the CAVITEX joint venture firm will conduct the toll holiday.

“We welcome TRB’s policy and operational decision guided by the general directive of the President – which was arrived at after considering all the implementation details and systems preparation that must be in place,” Ignacio pointed out.

"We commend TRB for the due deliberation that had taken place as part of our Regulator’s decision-making process,” he added.
