Land Rover Philippines has officially announced the arrival of the all-new Range Rover Sport to the country. The local unveiling of the third-generation model comes following its global debut last year.
The United-Kingdom-based automotive brand’s distributor locally said that the 2023 Range Rover Sport has effortlessly combined “assertive and instinctive on-road performance with trademark Range Rover refinement, progressive design sophistication and connected convenience,” making it the "most desirable, advanced and dynamically capable" version to date.
For its exterior, the latest Range Rover Sport sports short overhangs, an assertive front-end and steeply raked glazing at the front and back complemented by the stealth-like front grille and Pixel LED lighting units, which create a distinct daytime running light signature.
At the side of the model (which is exclusively produced in the marque’s Solihull facility) are the new lower fender details and the longest spoiler ever fitted to a Range Rover.
Despite wearing the boxy yet fluid body, the new Range Rover has a drag coefficient of only 0.29.
Inside, Occupants are to be greeted by innovative and sustainable material choices that include Ultrafabrics premium textiles finished in attractive new duo tone colorways, while a unique textile option that extends to the dashboard and door detailing is also available. Customers can also opt for the luxurious grained, Windsor or soft semi-Aniline leather. These are complemented by the new Moonlight Chrome interior trimmings.
Assuring comfort are the 22-way adjustable, heated and ventilated electric memory front seats with massage function and winged headrests and an optimized seat geometry at the rear with a 31 millimeter (mm) increase in legroom and 20mm greater knee clearance.
In addition, the new Range Rover Sport is equipped with the next-generation Cabin Air Purification Pro that combines PM2.5 filtration and nanoeTM X technology to significantly reduce odors, bacteria and allergens, and viruses. A second nanoeTM X device is fitted to the second row to provide consistent air quality throughout the cabin.
Providing crisp audio are the Meridian sound system with up to 29 speakers (including four headrest speakers) and a new subwoofer that can deliver up to 1,430 watt of amplifier power.
Further, the new Range Rover Sport has a high-resolution 13.1-inch curved touchscreen Pivi Pro placed at the center of the dashboard that has the capability to learn the user’s habits and intelligently personalizes the onboard experience — making it an intuitive personal assistant.
The Pivi Pro screen is complemented by a 13.7-inch Interactive Driver Display that echoes the main Pivi system. The new Range Rover Sport also has Wireless Apple Carplay and Wireless Android Auto compatibility function, along with the 15-watt wireless charger.
Likewise, customers can choose among the powertrain options that are 3.0 gasoline with plug-in hybrid as well as diesel engine.
Ensuring the extent of its dynamic capability is the Range Rover Sport’s Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (iAWD) system, which has the optional adaptive off-road cruise Control and Terrain Response.
Moreover, the new Range Rover Sport has a flexible mixed-metal architecture (MLA-Flex), which gives as much as 35 percent higher torsional stiffness than the model’s previous version. It works hand-in-hand with the host of systems under the Integrated Chassis Control system.
Furthermore, the latest offering comes with the new Dynamic Response Pro that guarantees ultimate roll control via a 48-volt electronic active roll control system. It can apply up to 1,400Nm of torque across each axle and is in harmony with the vehicle’s latest generation Dynamic Air Suspension system.
To optimize the suspension system’s response, the vehicle is fitted with eHorizon navigation data to pre-emptively check the road for upcoming bends.
Also, all Range Rover Sport comes with a host of safety features such as emergency braking, three-dimensional surround camera (including front and rear parking sensors), wade Sensing, Clearsight ground view and maneuvering Lights-cruise control, driver condition monitor, lane keep assist and traffic sign recognition.
“We are very excited to finally bring in The Third- Generation model of the new Range Rover Sport here in the Philippine market. It is truly the most desirable, advanced and dynamically capable yet. Its design sophistication: having Land Rover’s pioneering flexible MLA architecture delivers the highest levels of dynamism and most powerful performance we have ever seen on Range Rover Sport. MLA Flex Architecture allows the flexibility to manage all powertrains (ICE, PHEV and BEV) across the life of the vehicle as we transition into a new era of EV motoring,” Coventry Motors Corporation President Chris Ward said.
“In line with our commitment to a more sustainable future of mobility, the new and electrified Range Rover Sport is engineered to meet the demands of drivers looking for a high-performance drive, impressive efficiency, and zero emissions range,” he added.
The price for the new Range Rover Sport starts at P13.99 million.
