Despite being labeled "the last of its kind," the Aventador is still considered one of the most popular V12 super sports cars to have worn the badge of the raging bull.
It has now become an automotive icon that represents Lamborghini’s penchant for perfection. Since its inception, its fans have exchanged a few well-known facts about the model. But now, the Italian carmaker shares four trivia you might not know about the famed Aventador.
According to Lamborghini, more Aventadors have been sold than the total sum of all V12 models of the brand’s past.
In September of last year, the Aventador reached its 10,000th unit, topping the 7,000 threshold unit set by its predecessors. The Aventador has exceeded all the sales of the Murcielago in its fifth production year.
A supercar as unique as the Aventador has graced the silver screen and starred in some of the most popular movies in cinema history.
One of its most memorable appearances has got to be in the Dark Knight series. Who could forget the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 sporting the “Gotham - 649 8227” license plate driven by none other than Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) in Batman Begins?
And while most bat fans would argue that Michael Keaton’s batmobile in his 1989 rendition of the cape crusader is the best in the franchise, you just can’t disagree that Bale’s Aventador is as iconic.
There were also other Lambos in Bale’s Dark Knight trilogy like the Murciélago Roadster in Batman Begins (the first movie) and the Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 in the Dark Knight (second movie).
The Lamborghini Aventador is the first Lambo that adopted the customizable Driving Mode a.k.a., the MagneRide adaptive suspension which features four driving modes including Strada, Sport, Corsa, and EGO.
It allowed the Aventador to have rear-steering wheels which can be managed to create a customizable driving experience.
The latest — and the last — Aventador in the series is the Ultimae. It represents the peak of the Aventador model and showcases the best that this bull has to offer.
Some of its defining features include the extensive use of carbon fiber in its body, the Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Attiva (LDVA), the customizable TFT digital dashboard displays, and the 12-cylinder, 6.5-liter “Longitudinale Posteriore” (LP) engine that gives it 770 horses and 720Nm of almost instantaneous torque.
The Aventador Ultimae is a limited-edition model which will only see 350 coupes and 250 roadsters.
