Per LTO, the PUVs that figured in the said spot inspection were buses, UV Express units, jeepneys, and a taxi.According to the land transportation bureau, the five drivers were found to have tested positive for illegal drug use while the 15 PUVs — which consisted of nine buses, three UV Express units, two jeepneys, and one taxi — were impounded for various reasons.

“This is just the beginning of the aggressive operation that LTO will do not only here in Metro Manila but in the entire country. This should serve as a warning to the drivers and operators of these colorum vehicles to stop their illegal activities,” commented LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II.
“DOTr (Department of Transportation) Secretary Jaime Bautista has given strict instructions regarding these colorum vehicles because those affected by illegal operations are legitimate drivers and operators who follow the rules of our government,” he noted.
