What Ferrari cars will make their UK debut at Goodwood?
The Ferrari models to make their UK premiere at Goodwood include the 296 GTB, the SF90 Spider, the 812 Competizione, the Ferrari Daytona SP3, and the Ferrari SP38.When will the Goodwood Festival of Speed happen?
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is scheduled from June 23 to 26.The first of these cars is the 296 GTB, the brand’s first vehicle to sport the V6 hybrid engine. The 296 GTB draws power from a 2.9-liter mid-rear-mounted V6 that makes 653 horses and a hybrid system that makes an additional 164hp.
It will be finished in Rossa Corsa, a Colonel Ronnie Hoare’s Maranello Concessionaires racing team-inspired color scheme. It will also feature more aggressive aerodynamics and fixed racing dampers — as part of the optional Assetto Fiorano pack — and will come with the iconic “EHF 1” number plate.
Ownership of the EHF 1 number plate remains with the official Ferrari dealer, Maranello Sales, based at the historic Tower Garage in Egham, and the dealer has loaned the number plate to Ferrari North Europe to complete the historic nod to the brand’s history in the UK.
Alongside the 296 GTB in the Supercar Paddock will be the Ferrari SF90 Spider. The open-top version of the SF90 Stradale, which was launched in 2019 to celebrate the Scuderia Ferrari’s 90th Anniversary, comes with a 3.9-liter power plant that makes 769 horses. In addition to the V8 engine, this model sports three electric motors that deliver an additional 216 horses.
According to Ferrari, the specification of this particular SF90 Spider was chosen by a journalist from Autocar magazine, which will feature a full review of the car in a forthcoming issue.
The third car to make its debut in the UK is the Ferrari 812 Competizione, a limited-series car based on the Ferrari 812 Superfast. This specific model hides a 6.5-liter V12 engine which puts out about 818 horses. It also features more aggressive aerodynamics to the front and rear, with revised front and rear track and suspension settings, including an innovative rear-wheel steering system for quicker turn-in and sharper handling, Ferrari said.
The two other Ferraris that will gallop and grace the courtyard of Goodwood this week are the Ferrari Daytona SP3 (picture below) and the Ferrari SP38. Both models make for outstanding examples of Ferrari’s design language.
The former boasts an exterior inspired by classic endurance racers of the past, such as the 330 P3/4 and the 250 LM while the latter (picture below) continues the iconic outlines of Ferrari’s “Icona” range of cars.
A host of other Ferrari models, many of which are to be brought by passionate “Ferraristi,” will also be at this week’s Festival fo Speed at Goodwood.
