8th PIMS: Honda presents HR-V RS Turbo, all-new BR-V

Both models will remain on display at PIMS from September 15 to 18.The local arm of the Japanese automotive brand previously announced that they will be bringing the Honda HR-V RS Turbo to the biennial auto expo, signaling a new model to sit at the top of the HR-V hierarchy. Befittingly, the Honda HR-V RS Turbo comes with top-of-the-line features including exterior appointments such as a sporty chrome front grille, RS badge, and red amp-up logo. It also wears a bigger set of 18-inch RS Design gray alloy wheels.
To make it more aggressive looking, this RS variant also gets a smoke LED light bar and a chrome bumper. On the side, the Honda HR-V RS Turbo has a chrome and black side sill garnish which gives the range-topping variant an elevated sporty image and design.
A first for the nameplate, the Honda HR-V RS Turbo features LED sequential turn signal lights.
Inside, the sporty SUV boasts sporty pedals and shift knobs. Its interior is also finished in plush leather with red stitching to add to the cabin’s sporty look. Other noteworthy features include its eight-way power driver’s seat, ULT (Utility, Long, Tall) rear seats, and dual-zone climate control air conditioning.
Under its hood is a 1.5-liter Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control System (VTEC) Turbo engine mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). This setup makes around 175 horsepower (hp) with 240Nm of pulling power.
The Honda HR-V RS Turbo also has three driving modes: Econ, Normal, and Sport.
In terms of safety, HPI’s latest entry to the country’s compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment offers quite a handful of features. It is equipped with the Honda Sensing suite of advanced safety features and other high-tech amenities, particularly the rearview camera with a wider field of view, combined with improved software.
This is in pursuit of Honda’s global goal to realize zero traffic collision fatalities by 2050. The following safety features include Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow (LSF), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation System with Lane Departure Warning (RDM with LDW), Auto High-Beam (AHB), and Lead Car Departure Notification System (LCDN).
The Honda HR-V RS variant is now available at all 37 Honda dealerships nationwide. Price, per HPI, starts from P1.739 million. It is available in three hues: Ignite Red Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, and Premium Opal White Silver Pearl.
Meanwhile, the all-new Honda BR-V comes in as an enhanced version of the popular nameplate. The new Honda BR-V boasts a larger and higher body with a sharp and sleek design. It also comes with enhanced safety and new technology features that remain faithful to its value-for-money roots.
Both the HR-V and the all-new BR-V will remain on display during the duration of the event. The 8th PIMS runs from today (September 15) till Sunday (September 18).
