Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) – one of the three newly-hailed members of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) – revealed the Ioniq 5 at the 8th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).
While the purely-electric crossover was shown during its presentation, the company announced that customers will have to wait for its arrival in January next year.
Not much details as to the vehicle specifications were shared during the program but HMPH Dongwook Lee expressed the company’s eagerness towards providing the local market with new offerings.
“Our vision is ‘Progress for Humanity’ because we are dedicated to understanding what people want in life. For us it’s not about going from A to B, it’s about creating time for the moments that truly matter. This is what we hope for our Filipino customers to experience when they own a Hyundai,” the HMPH leader said.
“We are excited to hit the ground running and give Filipinos access to our award-winning smart technologies, advanced safety and driver-assist systems and of course our new ‘sensuous sportiness’ design philosophy in our range of passenger cars,” he added.
To note, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 was recognized as the 2022 World Car of the Year.
Apart from that, HMPH launched the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Test Drive Promo, featuring the new Hyundai Creta. The aforementioned contest was borne from Hyundai Motor Company’s (HMC) Goal of the Century (GOTC) pledge, taking inspiration from how the sport of football becomes a catalyst that ignites team spirit and togetherness among players and fans.
“We are committed to expanding our role beyond the transportation sector. As the third largest car manufacturer globally, we wish to become a mobility solution provider who will take the lead in creating a sustainable future for generations to come through ‘Goal of the Century’, our call towards a climate-positive tomorrow,” Lee said.
HMPH said that those who will test drive the new Creta will have the opportunity to fly to Qatar to watch a match at the FIFA World Cup. Full mechanics, terms and conditions are found at https://www.hyundai.com/ph/en/hyundai-story/campaign/goal-of-the-century.
Boasting a futuristic styling, the new Hyundai Creta wears a two-tone exterior and a front Parametric Jewel radiator grille. Sufficient power is provided by its Smartstream 1.5-liter engine mated to an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) system that has the ability to churn a maximum of 113 horsepower and nearly 144Nm of pulling power.
The new Creta also comes with the Hyundai Smartsense suite of intelligent technologies that aid in safer and easier drives.
PIMS visitors can test drive the crossover at the World Trade Center during the four-day event. Those who will reserve a unit of the Hyundai Creta through the P98,000 all-in low down payment can also have an event-exclusive P10,000 discount.
