The 8th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) came to a close yesterday with the successful four-day event delivering a host of presentations that excited the local automotive industry.
One of these is Mazda Philippines’ presentation of the MX-5 MCP (Miata Club of the Philippines) 25th Anniversary Edition. Shown to the public for the first time, the Philippine market-exclusive MX-5 will be produced only from September 15, 2022, to September 15, 2023.
“As the only car manufacturer to officially recognize a car club, the MX-5 MCP 25th Anniversary Edition is the culmination of our unique relationship. It is an example of how we want to build, Kizuna — a lasting, almost inseparable bond an owner has with his car,” said Mazda Philippines President Steven Tan.
Outside, the Mazda MX-5 MCP 25th Anniversary Edition boasts a unique Platinum Quartz Metallic finish with a Navy Blue soft top. Furthermore, the special-edition MX-5 also wears Navy Blue side mirrors and roll hoops. It rides on 17-inch Satin Silver alloy wheels.
The interior of the Mazda MX-5 MCP 25th Anniversary Edition features a special Mazda Connect Commander knob in Sterling Silver. It also comes with a Serial Number Plate — also finished in Sterling Silver.
Additional interior appointments include black leather seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a nine-speaker Bose sound system. Per Mazda’s local arm, each MX-5 MCP 25th Anniversary Edition will also include a commemorative car cover and an MCP 25th Anniversary Photobook.
The Mazda MX-5 MCP 25th Anniversary Edition comes in manual and automatic variants. The former is priced at P2.250 million while the latter has a P2.300 million sticker price.
Other models on display on Mazda Philippines’ three-layer pavilion included the Mazda3 M Hybrid, CX-30 M Hybrid, CX-5 AWD (all-wheel-drive) Turbo, and CX-9 AWD Turbo Exclusive. Additionally, an accessorized version of the BT-50 4x4 and the new CX-8 AWD Exclusive made appearances at the 8th PIMS.
