9th PH Electric Vehicle Summit slated for Aug. 26-27
The Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) and Manila Electric Company (MERALCO), in partnership with the Department of Energy (DOE), will hold this year’s Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) next month.
Slated for August 26-27, the ninth PEVS is focused on further promoting electric vehicles in the country. This will also be the second year the program will be staged online via Zoom platform.
This year’s theme for the two-day conference that serves as continuing platform for policy dialogue will be “Accelerating the Switch to Electro-Mobility in the Philippines.”
Further, EVAP said that one of the highlights of this year’s PEVS will be the symbolic signing of the stakeholder Memorandum of Understanding to accelerate the switch to electro-mobility by 2025.
“This highly-anticipated activity will involve representatives from key government agencies, the academe, civil society, and EVAP reaffirming their commitment to accelerate the transition to sustainable transport,” the group noted.
Day One of the summit will focus on policy dialogues about technologies and solutions while Day Two will tackle the state of industry and market development.
The 9th PEVS will be co-presented by Phillip Morris Philippines, Nissan Philippines, and Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation. The Department of Energy will also have a special participation in the conference.
