Unlike the usual success story wherein the love story for a model or brand starts with a visit to a dealership, Martin Lock’s trust for Kia started after going on a trip to Korea.
A human resource director for a company and a family man, Lock was in the market for a vehicle for a vehicle that would help him effectively meet his responsibilities.
Serendipity played an important role in the decision to purchase a Kia Sorento for the household. It occurred to him when the family went on a trip to Kia’s birthplace: Korea.
“My family and I went to Korea where we were fetched by a Kia Carnival. This made me realize that the brand Kia has come a long way in terms of performance and style. Hence, my interest in the brand and the cars that they offer was piqued,” Lock said.
And from that point on, there was no going back for Martin.
He shared that despite being hooked from that point on, he still did research before choosing the Sorento for them.
“I went online to look for the best-rated seven-seater SUVs and watched countless reviews of possible options. After narrowing down the options based on style, functionality, and security, I decided to choose the Sorento.”
Lock shared his contentment for the vehicle, saying that it has already proven its worth as a great companion for when it comes to work errands. “Now, I get up every day and go to work driving comfortably with my mind at ease. It exceeded my initial impressions. I was surprised how light the steering wheel feels. It helps me to feel more relaxed while driving,” he noted.
Under the hood of the Kia Sorento is a 2.2-liter common rail direct-inject diesel engine that can deliver up to 441Nm of torque. Aside from that, the vehicle also has a seven-inch touchscreen audio system with Bluetooth, Apple Carplay, and Android Auto connectivity.
With the Kia Sorento now being a part of their family, Lock claimed that it has also become a source of joy for the whole family.
“This car has been a significant companion for our family especially in this pandemic. Since we cannot go out with the kids outdoors, our family bonding became long drives with the kids just to sightsee or buy food in drive-thrus. The comfort it has provided me and my family encourages me to procure another Kia vehicle,” he explained.
The monocoque chassis of the Kia Sorento houses easy sliding seats with premium leather upholstery, and rear air ventilation and power supply.
Yet the vehicle is not just a typical workhorse.
According to Kia Philippines, Lock gets to attend to all of his tasks in flair “because Kia is a brand that takes style very seriously.”
“The elegant and sporty appearance of the Kia Sorento was even recognized in two of the most prestigious and global design competitions: the Red Dot Design Award and iF Design Award,” the company reported.
Further, Martin reminded vehicle buyers to “recognize value based on merits” and “always believe on your own reasons in buying a car.”
“Whether you choose the distinctive Sorento or opt for another Kia model, we are confident that our vehicles will give you the high-level performance, quality, style, and safety that you seek,” Kia concluded.
