Turin-based tuner Abarth has recently introduced the new 595 range, a souped-up version of the humble Fiat 500 city car. The announcement came in on March 18, just a few weeks before its 73rd anniversary.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

These cars are based on the Fiat 500 city car.
  • How many variants does the Abarth 595 range have?

The Abarth 595 range has 12 models priced from £21,295 to £29,945.
  • The new Abarth 595 range offers plenty of options, starting from the base 595 models to the range-topping 695 variants. Both sporty versions of the urban car allow customers to build an Abarth best suited for their tastes.

“With these options, customers can build an Abarth best fit for their tastes and needs, thanks to the four upgrades made with the most authentic Abarth traditions in mind. While preserving the brand’s dual soul, today a customized driving experience can still be achieved with one of four conversion upgrades,” said Abarth in a press release.

Despite its base model status, the Abarth 595 offers its owners a suite of exterior and interior amenities. The front end is fitted with body-color fog lamps and mirror caps, the side features 16-inch alloy wheels, and the rear sports double chrome exhaust pipes. Inside are satin-chromed internal moldings and door handles, a gray dashboard, black fabric seats, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, as well as a leather-finished flat-bottom steering wheel and gear knob. It also comes with stainless-steel pedal caps.

Technical upgrades include Koni rear suspensions, Abarth’s very own high-performance brakes, and a tuned 165-hp, 1.4 T-jet Euro 6D Final engine, equipped with an increased Garrett turbocharger that achieves a top speed of 135mph.

Those who want to add flair to the subcompact car can get the 595 Turismo which comes with satin chrome mirror caps, light Granturismo 17-inch alloy wheels, a grey dashboard fascia, a dedicated steering wheel, a special badge on the body, automatic climate control, 3D Navigation system, and black or brown leather upholstered seats.

Abarth crafted a special trim for motorsports enthusiasts in the Abarth F595. This version comes with the Record Monza Sovrapposto exhaust system, Koni front suspensions, automatic climate control, 3D Navigation system, 17-inch alloy wheels, and the special F595 badge — which pays homage to Formula 4, for whom Abarth is the exclusive engine supplier in Italy, Germany, and the UK.

Those who like to kick things up a notch will enjoy the more powerful Abarth 695. The range-topping variant of the 595 series builds from the aforementioned 595 models but adds distinctive, high-performing style elements such as tar cold gray molding, door handles, and mirror caps, as well as 17-inch alloy wheels and the abovementioned Record Monza exhaust system.

The cabin boasts an Alcantara-upholstered cockpit with a steering wheel that combines Alcantara leather and carbon fiber trims and an aluminum gear knob. It also comes with sporty Sabelt fabric seats with matte gray shell, automatic climate control, and a 3D Navigation system.

Under its bonnet is a 180hp 1.4 T-jet engine which can power the vehicle to a peak speed of 140mph. It brings the top-of-the-line model from zero to 62mph in just 6.7 seconds. Fitted are Koni FSD shock absorbers on both axles as well as red front four-piston Brembo brakes.

Abarth also offers a 695 for “sporty customers and connoisseurs of fine materials.” This one comes with two-tone leather seats, a sunroof, 17-inch alloy wheels, and the 695 Turismo badge. Those whose style preference lean towards “exclusivity, performance, and racing spirit,” can check out the Abarth 695 Competizione. This model comes with the Record Monza Sovrapposto exhaust system with titanium pipes as well as Sabelt seats with red stitching and carbon shell.

Lastly, customers purchasing the 695 Competizione can choose between the mechanical limited slip differential (as standard), which improves traction in difficult conditions and uneven roads, or the Abarth robotized sequential gearbox with steering wheel paddles. Highlighted on the body, there is the 695 Competizione badge, whose roots go way back in the brand’s history.

In total, the 595 range is comprised of 12 hatchback and convertible models with prices ranging from £21,295 to £29,945.
