AC Motors-led Honda BGC showroom to be shuttered tomorrow
The Honda dealership under AC Motors in Bonifacio Global City will cease operations starting tomorrow, July 1.
The Ayala-backed company shared that the announcement of the closure of the dealership was made internally last May 21, with the company eyeing to put up a "corporate showroom" there instead.
AC Motors Automobile Group President Antonio Zara III explained that the move is part of an overall strategy to further synergize efforts for the brands they carry: automotive brands Honda, Isuzu, Volkswagen, Kia, Maxus and motorcycle brands KTM and Husqvarna.
“This is part of the strategy to optimize AC Motors companies’ operating footprint and in order to be in step with the local automotive industry in the long term, the Honda BGC site is being explored to be repurposed to be the corporate office and a hub to showcase the different brands that we carry,” Zara mentioned in the statement.
To note, the AC Motors Motorcycle Group is led by Andre Angelo Santos.
“The corporate hub in BGC is seen to further enhance the synergy of the brands in AC Motors’ Automobile Group and its Motorcycle Group, and will showcase for sale the latest models per brand,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, the existing Volkswagen, Kia, KTM, and Husqvarna dealerships in BGC will continue to provide sales offers and after-sales services to their clients. “By the time the hub becomes operational, an even more enticing model line-up of all AC Motors’ brands will greet customers from all over Metro Manila,” the company added.
On its Facebook post, Honda Cars Global City is referring its customers to other Honda dealerships under AC Motors such as Honda Cars Makati, Honda Cars Pasig, Honda Cars Alabang, Honda Cars Shaw and Honda Cars Manila Bay.
It was June last year that the Yuchengco-led House of Investments shuttered four Honda dealerships in Fairview (reopened under Gatewayfairview Motors Corporation), Marikina, Marcos Highway and Kalookan. Soon after closure of aforementioned dealers, AC Motors assured the local distributor that it will be giving its full support to the brand.
"In relation to the recent announcement made by Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) on the closure of Hondas four dealerships located in the northern part of Metro Manila, Honda Cars Makati, Inc. (HCMI) expresses its continued and full support to Honda in the Philippines," Honda Cars Makati president Jenara Rosanna Ong said.
