AC Motors, STAR Corp. open largest BYD dealership in QC

AC Motors — in partnership with Solar Transport and Automotive Resources (STAR) Corporation — has opened Build Your Dreams’ (BYD) largest dealership in the country.

The newly-opened  BYD Quezon Avenue flagship sales facility is the marque’s first local dealership inaugurated under the Ayala Group of Companies’ automotive arm.

BYD recently appointed AC Motors as its newest official local distributor — through the latter's subsidiary, Mobility Access Philippines Ventures Incorporated (MAPVI). To recall, it was STAR Corporation who brought BYD to the local market back in 2013.

With an area of 4,000 square meters, the BYD Quezon Avenue features a large showroom that can showcase the marque’s full EV line-up in the Philippines namely  Dolphin, Han EV, and Tang — all of which were displayed by the former distributor at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) 2023.

Aside from that, the showroom guarantees an elevated customer lounge experience. It has a dedicated new-car release port that combines green and contemporary designs.

Per AC Motors, the newly-established BYD Quezon Avenue is among the first of at least 12 dealerships that will be put up in strategic locations over the next 12 months.

“BYD’s presence in the country was already formidable,” MAPVI President Antonio Zara III said. “Thus, we look forward to scaling even bigger heights and bringing the brand closer to even more Filipinos. Building your dreams has never been more attainable, and exciting.”

For his part, STAR Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Tieng expressed high hopes for its new dealership.

“The BYD Quezon Avenue flagship dealership is a testament to the strong partnership of AC Motors and Solar Transport, and our commitment to our valued customers to provide service that they can rely on,” Tieng said.

“We can assure our clients that each BYD EV will have access to exceptional after-sales service and support, including an extensive battery warranty coverage of eight years or 150,000 kilometers. The company’s trained mechanics are dedicated to providing reliable customer service, and with the aggressive global expansion efforts and government-backed incentives taking place, BYD owners in the Philippines can expect peace of mind, reliable specialists, and a seamless ownership experience,” he added.

Meanwhile, BYD Philippines and Singapore General Manager James Ng said that the opening of the first flagship store in the country illustrates the importance BYD attaches to the Philippine market and serves as an important step for the Chinese automaker to deepen its localization in the Philippines. “This is a brand-new starting point,” the executive claimed.

Located at 718 Quezon Avenue corner G. Araneta Street in Quezon City, BYD Quezon Avenue is ready to welcome customers from 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Mondays to Saturdays.
