ACMobility brings out new Kia Sorento Hybrid Turbo

MANILA: ACMobility has officially launched the hybrid version of the Kia Sorento — further expanding its new energy vehicle line for the Philippine market.

The latest addition in the Korean automaker’s local stable in the country — called the new Kia Sorento Hybrid Turbo — comes with a new powertrain set-up and is fitted with numerous technological advancements.

Below are some notable pieces of information about the Kia Philippines’ latest product.

Exterior

The new Kia Sorento Hybrid Turbo basically has the same measurements as its diesel powertrain counterpart as seen below only a tad longer with a lower ground clearance:

It carries the brand’s latest design language as expressed by exterior elements particularly the front fascia that is similar to the Kia Carnival Turbo HEV flanked by the four-cube headlamps with daytime running lights (which are all on LED). In addition, the model retained the large horizontal slats and skid plate at the lower portion of the grille — giving the midsize SUV an athletic look. 

Its sides are outfitted with side mirrors with turn signal indicators, chromed fittings on the door handles and moldings, and a roof rack. Further, the vehicle rides on 19-inch alloys wrapped in 135/55 tires.

For the Kia Sorento Turbo Hybrid’s rear, the product is fitted with the following:

• Rear spoiler with integrated brake lamp
• Skid plate
• Combination tail lamps
• Rear window wiper 

Interior

Inside, the Kia Sorento Turbo Hybrid welcomes the driver and its passengers with a sophisticated yet comfortable vibe, thanks to its two-tone interior color layout with brushed silver fittings.

The dark portions cover the dashboard, housing of the two digital screens, multi-function steering wheel, center console, as well as the upper half of the door panels.

As mentioned above, the two digital screens consist of the 12.3-inch instrument panel and a similarly-sized infotainment system that has Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity.

The Kia Sorento Turbo Hybrid’s audio system is matched to 12-speaker Bose sound system. 

Other amenities that can be found inside the vehicle are: 

• Dual-zone air conditioning unit 
• Wireless charging pad 
• Panoramic sunroof 

Powertrain

Aside from aesthetics, the Kia Sorento Turbo Hybrid has another similarity with the Carnival Turbo HEV: its powertrain.

Powering the vehicle is a 1.6-liter gasoline mill matched to a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a lithium-ion battery that can produce the following numbers:
