ACMobility to launch new Kia Carnival

Kia Philippines is set to launch a new model within the month, which will likely be the latest iteration of the Carnival.

Such is a strong possibility as Carmudi Philippines received an invitation from the brand’s local arm, stating that a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) shall be revealed on September 20.

“Later this month, Kia Philippines is launching an update of its longest-running nameplate in the country–a family favorite that will don premium, stylish, and tech-advanced features that are aligned with the latest Kia brand imagery,” the Ayala-led distributor noted in a statement.

While ACMobility has yet to announce the soon-to-be-launched model’s details, here are some possible specifications about it as seen in markets abroad.

Unveiled at the 2024 Chicago Auto Show last February, the refreshed Kia Carnival wears an updated “Opposites United” design language and has maintained its sport-utility-vehicle look.

In front of the vehicle are the chiseled front fascia, cube-like headlamps, and Kia’s signature amber-colored Star Map daytime running lights.

Meanwhile, the new Kia Carnival has its rear license plate housing repositioned to the lower part of the tailgate for a polished appearance, which complemented its tail lamp design. It rides on 17-19-inch wheels, depending on the trim available.

Overseas, the new Kia Carnival is equipped with a curved panoramic dual-display composed of a pair of 12.3-inch screens (digital gauge cluster and infotainment system), seven standard USB-C ports, two power outlets, and two 115-volt inverters.

Further, the upcoming vehicle’s cabin is expected to have the same seating configuration that allows it to haul almost 4,108 liters of cargo.

Further, the vehicle might still be outfitted with the Smartstream 2.2-liter in-line four- cylinder common rail direct-inject diesel mill, which dishes out 200 horsepower and 440 Newton-meters of torque.

However, since the company is in the business of bringing in electric vehicles, the company might also consider offering the 1.6-liter turbo-hybrid gasoline mill paired with a 54-kilowatt motor option — which was at the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show.
