ADVISORY: ‘Goring’ leaves 9 road closures
Typhoon Goring (international name Saola) left nine road sections impassable, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said in an initial report.

CAR
- Claveria-Calanasan-Kabugao Road in Barangay Ferdinand, Calanasan (Bayag), Apayao due to landslide;
- Andres Acop Colasan Road, Sebang, Buguias, Benguet due to rock/slope collapse;
- Dantay Sagada Road, Barangay Antadao, Sagada, Mountain Province due to roadcut/collapsed pavement;
- Baguio-Bontoc Road, Barangay Sinto, Bauko, Mountain Province due to roadcut/collapsed pavement, rock/slope collapse;
Region 1
- Roxas Bridge, Vigan-San Vicente Road, Ilocos Sur due to scoured bridge abutment;
Region 2
- Cabagan-Sta. Maria Road, Cabagan-Sta. Maria Overflow Bridge, Sta. Maria-Cabagan, Isabela due to high water elevation;
- Gadu-Carilucud Nabbotuan-Palao-Macutay Road, Carilucud Detour Bridge, Solana, Cagayan due to washed-out detour road;
Region 6
- Iloilo-Antique Road, Paliwan Bridge, Barangay Cubay North Bugasong, Barangay Lugta, Laua-an, Laua-an, Antique due to flooding/high water elevation; and
- Iloilo-Antique Road, Barangay Quianan, San Joaquin, Iloilo due to landslide and mudflow.
Meanwhile, two roads in Regions 1 and 4A have limited access namely:
- Bantay-Vigan Road, Vigan Bridge 1 and 2 in Barangay 1, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur due to damaged abutment protection and bridge approach; and the
- Nasugbu-Lian-Calatagan Road in Barangay Putting Kahoy, Lian, Batangas due to scoured shoulder and roadcut/collapsed pavement.
With that, the government arm advised motorists to take alternative routes while clearing operations are ongoing.
