Honda USA announced that the Civic Si, considered to be the “best-equipped and most fun-to-drive” version of the Civic, will be available in its dealerships later this year.
In a statement, Honda said the turbocharged all-new 2022 Civic Si — which is based on the 11th-generation Honda Civic sedan — has set a new benchmark in the sport compact sedan category, with its improved dynamic performance.
“The Civic Si is a performance icon that has offered affordable high-performance for four decades and the new Honda Civic Si continues that legacy," American Honda Motor Co., Inc. Executive Vice President of National Operations Dave Gardner said. "It isn’t just a blast to drive, it’s hands down the best Civic Si we’ve ever offered to our customers."
For its aesthetics, the said model wears an a more aggressive upper front bumper design while its rear bumper has been remodeled with two large oval exhaust tips.
It also has a front spoiler hidden under the vehicle as well as a gloss black rear spoiler mounted on top of the trunk lid. A gloss black trim is on the surrounds of the exterior mirrors and windows. This vehicle sits on 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels with Si-specific matte black finish, and is also retailed in the Si-exclusive Blazing Orange Pearl paint color.
Inside, Si-specific sport seats with embroidered Si logos, sport pedals and red contrast stitching on the doors, steering wheel, center arm rest, shift boot and shift knob are found in the 2022 Honda Civic Si.
Further, the all-new 2022 Honda Civic Si features a new seven-inch color instrument display with a digital tachometer on the left side, a multi-information display in the center and a physical speedometer dial. It is also installed with a nine-inch HD color touchscreen (that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity) matched to a 12-speaker Bose premium sound system that features the Bose Centerpoint 2 technology and SurroundStage digital signal processing.
Powering the all-new Honda Civic Si is an updated 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired to an improved short-throw six-speed manual transmission with standard rev-matching system from the equally exciting Civic Type R.
Lastly, the all-new 2022 Honda Civic Si has a list of safety systems as with the rest of the 11th-generation Civic lineup, which includes the latest generation of Honda's proprietary Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure, four airbags (dual front and rear seat side), and an updated Honda Sensing suite of active safety and driver-assistive technologies.
