Fuel Economy Results for Honda’s All-New Civic and All-New HR-V

The leadership of Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) expressed pride over the official fuel mileage numbers that its all-new Civic and HR-V gathered during a recent economy run.

    According to HCPI, the aforementioned models were driven 129 kilometers on highways, cruising at speeds of 60-80 kilometers per hour (kph) at 1,500-2,000 rpm, with the air-conditioning at 24°C temperature, and at lowest fan speed.

    The all-new Honda Civic and HR-V V Turbo are both powered by a 1.5-liter double overhead cam i-VTEC Turbo engine that can dish out 240Nm of pulling power. The HR-V V Turbo's power mill can provide a peak performance of up to 175.5 horsepower (hp) while the sedan offering, as much as 174.5 horses. On the other hand, the non-turbo HR-V S trim has a maximum churn of 119hp 145 Nm of torque.

    Further, the engines are matched to a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) to ensure a refined driving experience.

    “With fluctuating fuel prices, we understand how important fuel efficiency is to vehicle owners. Through this eco run, we are not only demonstrating that Honda vehicles are fuel efficient in local conditions, we also want to encourage customers that they too can have excellent fuel mileage. It does help to have safe driving habits and to observe the periodic maintenance service, especially combined with advanced technology features like the Honda SENSING,” HCPI President Masahiko Nakamura was quoted as saying.

    Further, HCPI noted that the brand is poised on meeting the global targets such as the 100-percent electrification of automobiles by 2040 and carbon neutrality for products and corporate activities by 2050.

    Moreover, the Japanese automaker aims for zero collision fatalities from the use of all its products by 2050. “On the way there, driving smoothly and efficiently is a practical choice that vehicle owners can take today to improve road safety, save on fuel consumption, and reduce environmental impact,” HCPI shared in a statement.
