All-new McLaren Artura to be exhibited at upcoming British Motor Show
McLaren Automotive’s first series-production high-performance hybrid supercar, the Artura, will be showcased at the upcoming 2021 British Motor Show. The motoring event will happen from August 19 to 22 in Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre, Farnborough, United Kingdom.
The Artura will feature the automaker’s best in terms of hybrid technology while preserving the McLaren tradition of hypercar innovation. The McLaren Artura boasts scintillating performance and handling, while also being capable of low emissions.
According to McLaren Automotive, the Artura debuts a lightweight carbon fiber-based architecture designed, developed, and built at the British luxury sports car company’s McLaren Composites Technology Center (MCTC) facility.
Powering the Artura is an all-new 120-degree-angle twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine, assisted by a compact axial-flux E-motor. The combined output of this hybrid powertrain is at 670 horsepower and 720Nm of electrified, near-instantaneous torque. It can send the McLaren Artura from a standstill to 100kph in just three seconds.
Joining the Artura this coming weekend will be McLaren’s full lineup including the 720S in both Coupe and Spider form.
In addition, the automotive brand will also showcase McLaren GT finished in Serpentine. This car combines the iconic McLaren driving experience with everyday usability.
“We are delighted to support the British Motor Show, located just a short drive from Woking, just as the new Artura heralds an exciting new chapter for McLaren. The Artura represents the full force of McLaren — not just our first 10 years as a volume luxury supercar manufacturer, but six decades of innovation and success in high performance. It joins our acclaimed series-production range alongside the 720S — the benchmark supercar — and the GT, our most accessible high-performance car yet,” said McLaren Automotive Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) Managing Director Brett Soso.
Fans can visit the McLaren stand at the British Motor Show where they can see these cars, enjoy follow-up test drives, and purchase McLaren merch.
