All-new Mitsubishi Strada breaks cover

The all-new Triton, known in the country as the Strada, has made its debut in Thailand.

The key features of the all-new Triton were exclusively developed by Mitsubishi Motors, including a robust ladder frame and body, tough chassis, powerful and driver-friendly engine and 4WD (four-wheel-drive) system that achieves excellent road handling and stability. With production ultimately expected to reach 200,000 vehicles in over 100 countries, the all-new Triton is an extremely important model that will provide foundational support for Mitsubishi Motors, as well as the first global strategic vehicle to be rolled out at the start of our growth phase. Please look forward to our challenges that begin from here,” said Mitsubishi Motors President and Chief Executive Takao Kato. 

From the outside, the all-new Mitsubishi Strada boasts a more aggressive look thanks to the brand’s new Beast Mode design concept. 

Through the said design language, the all-new Mitsubishi Strada now wears a bolder take of the brand’s Dynamic Shield fascia with a three-dimensional front grille, a pair of three-dimensional LED headlamps, and daytime running lamps with three L-shaped LED lights. 

Its side profile showcases the all-new Mitsubishi Strada’s horizontally-themed styling. Notable are its robust doors, more durable handles, sharply overhanging fender panels, and wider side steps. 

To its rear is an amply-sized bed, a pair of T-shaped taillights, and a rear spoiler. 

Inside the all-new Mitsubishi Strada is a horizontally-themed dashboard where a floating infotainment system and an instrument cluster with what appears to be analog and digital gauges sits. 

The all-new Mitsubishi Strada is powered by a new 2.4-liter diesel engine mated to either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic transmission. This setup, Mitsubishi pointed out, makes a maximum of 201 horsepower. 

Compared to the currently-available Mitsubishi Strada in the country, it makes approximately more than 20 horses. 

The all-new Mitsubishi Strada is now available in Thailand and will soon be rolled out to other markets in the ASEAN region. It will be launched in Japan early next year.
