All-New Range Rover Evoque Gets 5-Star Euro NCAP Safety Rating
Those awaiting the arrival of the 2019 Range Rover Evoque have another reason to add to their excitement, as the European New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP) awarded the luxury SUV a five-star safety rating, scoring 94 percent for adult occupant protection and 87 percent for child occupant protection.
"The Range Rover Evoque is at home in the city and the country," said Finbar McFall, Global Product Marketing Director at Jaguar Land Rover. "So we added the latest technologies aimed at preventing accidents and a new vehicle architecture to protect occupants in the event of an incident."
"The result is another five-star performer from Land Rover," McFall added.
A five-star occupant protection means both passive and active features have performed well in the NCAP tests, which include driving and crashing a car onto a solid wall at a speed of 64 kph. Standard active safety features on the all-new Evoque include Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Rear Camera, and Front and Rear Parking Aids.
Also on-board the new Evoque is Land Rover's much-lauded ClearSight technology, which puts a camera on the front grille and side mirrors as well as the rear shark fin to create a better view of the road ahead and behind.
The second-gen Evoque couldn’t make it in time for this year’s MIAS, but the car was available for viewing via virtual reality. Nevertheless, Chris Ward, president of official Jaguar Land Rover Philippines importer Coventry Motors Corporation, promised a proper launch for the second-gen Evoque when it arrives.
