Artsy Artura: McLaren, Cevin Parker transform supercar into a rolling canvas

McLaren Automotive has teamed up with emerging German artist Cevin Parker to transform the Artura into a rolling canvas.

The British carmaker’s first series-production high-performance hybrid supercar was wrapped with a one-off design that boasts beautiful abstract art.

According to the Woking-based carmaker, the McLaren Artura wearing the exclusive wrap will be exhibited at prestigious automotive industry and art market events throughout the year such as the Nit D’Arte in Palma des Mallorca and the Art Basel Miami.

“We are delighted to reveal this exclusive collaboration with Cevin Parker. Parker’s extraordinary talent and deep understanding of art have allowed him to create a truly remarkable design that perfectly captures the spirit of the Artura. His use of color – particularly the vibrant combination of purple and yellow – symbolizes creativity, individuality, energy, and optimism, all of which resonate with the Artura’s dynamic personality,” commented McLaren Automotive Market Director for Central Europe Bastian Luehmann.

Parker is a Berlin-based, contemporary self-taught abstract artist whose work is rapidly gaining a growing following. His work was recently exhibited at the IncubARTor exhibition in Hamburg.

Parker’s abstract art beautifully complements McLaren’s bold and contemporary design language, while his innovative thinking and use of the latest technologies – including augmented reality – perfectly align with McLaren’s ethos.

His art also captures the essence of emotion and fleeting moments, a theme that resonates in Parker’s personal life as a passionate car enthusiast.

The Artura is the embodiment of these emotions, and its design reflects the quest to optimize both performance and beauty.

Pretty much like the exclusive artwork, the Artura too, represents a fusion of art and future technology as McLaren’s first series production, high-performance hybrid supercar. Its name – for the uninitiated – is a combination of “art” and “future,” reflecting the seamless integration of cutting-edge technology and stunning design.

The McLaren Artura is powered by a V6 engine and an electric motor paired with an eight-speed transmission that delivers around 671 horsepower.
