Astara gets Cajayon as GAC Motor PH brand head

The conglomerate’s arm in the country shared that as Brand Head for GAC Motor Philippines, Cajayon “will be responsible for driving strategic marketing direction, sales programs and dealer network development for the GAC Motor brand in the market.”
“We have achieved significant milestones in our first year with Peugeot and we are confident that we will do the same for GAC Motor this year. Jun is a seasoned executive with an impressive track record, and we are happy to have him on board to drive GAC Motor to new heights through impactful marketing and sales campaigns,” Astara Philippines Managing Director Raoul Picello was quoted as saying.
Prior to his new post, Cajayon served as the general manager for Maxus Philippines, which is under the Ayala-led AC Motors.
Following the development, the local distributor of GAC Motor vehicles will launch the all-new Empow and new GS8 on January 18 — joining the current vehicle lineup made up of the GS3, GS4 and GN6.
Aside from that, the company is also set to open new showroom and service facilities within the first quarter to further expand its network reach across the country.
Formerly known as Bergé Auto, Astara (which entered the Philippine market in January last year), now has two brands under its belt in the country — the other one being Peugeot.
Considered one of the biggest automotive distributors in the world, Astara has sold more than three million cars as a strategic partner of the world’s leading automotive groups including GAC Motor, which Astara presently distributes in Chile and Peru.
On the other hand, GAC Motor was first introduced in 2018 under Legado Motors Inc., which now forms part of the brand’s dealer network locally.
