Astara PH adds auto industry vet to man JAC distributorship

MANILA: Astara Philippines further boosted its roster of local executives by adding another automotive industry veteran.

Since March 22, Tonette Lee started leading the relaunched JAC Motors Philippines as its brand head . To note, the multi-brand firm announced that it has acquired the Jianghuai Automobile Company Limited’s distributorship in the country last February.

Considered to have a deep understanding of the industry,  Lee has more than 30 years of experience under her belt. Throughout her career, Lee led numerous marketing and sales functions, and was instrumental in successful acquisitions and launches of emerging automotive brands in the country.

She also steered dealership development programs for various distributors. Per Astara Philippines, Lee’s leadership is “characterized by the implementation of modern and aggressive marketing strategies, cementing her reputation as a dynamic force in the automotive sector.”

Before joining Astara Philippines, Lee was the marketing and sales director for Luxuriant Automotive Group — the local arm for Great Wall Motor.

Her leadership experience in various industries brings a wealth of fresh perspectives to the table, which will be vital in driving the success of JAC in the Philippines. Her expertise and passion for the motoring industry make her the ideal leader to spearhead the brand’s launch and take the JAC brand to greater heights,” Astara Philippines Managing Director Raoul Picello said.

With her latest role, Lee will oversee business operation strategies and brand initiatives for JAC. Her appointment is also crucial as the marque is set to join the upcoming Manila International Auto Show 2024.
