Capable of putting out nearly 670 horsepower and 800 Newton-meters of torque. This setup also propels the Aston Martin DB12 from standstill to about 100 kilometers per hour (kph) in about 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 325 kph.
Performance-wise, the British automotive brand mentioned that the Aston Martin DB12 is 34 percent better compared to its predecessor, the DB11.
Stopping power comes in the form of cast-iron 400mm front discs and 360mm rear discs with grooved and drilled faces for improved thermal capacity.
Optionally, the Aston Martin DB12 can be had with carbon ceramic brakes, which are lighter and can reduce brake fades at temperatures of up to 800 degrees Celsius.
“DB12 is a statement car. One that asserts Aston Martin’s position as a leader in performance, dynamics, engineering, and technology. We have pushed every aspect of this car to be best-in-class. The result is more power and performance than its rivals,” commented Aston Martin Group Chief Technology Officer Roberto Fedeli.
Complementing its beefy engine and capable brakes are a host of performance-oriented appointments such as an electronic rear differential — a first on an Aston Martin, the carmaker pointed out — as well as a set of 21-inch forged-alloy wheels wrapped in bespoke Michelin Pilot Sport 5 S tires.
Suspension-wise, it gets an all-new system featuring the latest dampers. Control of the Aston Martin DB12 is further amplified by an exceptionally precise and direct electronic power-assisted steering system while an industry-leading electronic stability control system adds a certain level of safety to give the driver confidence when taking on various terrain.
To keep the driver informed, the Aston Martin DB12 is fitted as standard with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Meanwhile, it also gets a 10.25-inch next-generation infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, to keep its passengers engaged in long trips.
In-car audio is enhanced by the optional Bowers & Wilkins premium surround sound system.
“DB12 is our design definition of a Super Tourer. Historically, the GT code among most contemporary enthusiasts meant some semblance of comfort, speed, and refinement. But since the Aston Martin customer is no ordinary motorist, and we no longer simply design objects in and of themselves, we’ve fused everything together on the DB12 — the handling, dynamics, powertrain, sense of space, and styling — and we’ve done it to the max through technology to deliver this new category of performance-design driving experience,” stated Aston Martin Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman.
It is reportedly priced at US$245,000 (approximately P13.809 million) with deliveries commencing in the third quarter of 2023.
