Aston Martin to showcase Valkyrie, Vantage F1 Edition, and AMR21 at Goodwood
Aston Martin looks forward to an exciting weekend at the 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed as the British luxury carmaker plans to showcase its trifecta of showstopping sports cars.
Due to make an appearance is the highly anticipated Aston Martin Valkyrie, the brand’s halo car made in collaboration with Red Bull Racing Advanced Technologies.
The special limited-edition hypercar will not only wow the audience with its Formula 1-inspired looks but will also take on the famous Hillclimb past Goodwood House in the “Supercar” batch.
The Aston Martin Valkyrie features a striking aerodynamic exterior and an open underfloor which maximizes downforce in high-speed driving situations. An all-carbon fiber bodywork increases the vehicle’s rigidity while getting the benefit of lighter weight.
Its radical aerodynamic build is complemented with a relatively radical hybrid engine.
Powering the Aston Martin Valkyrie is a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine capable of producing 1,176 horses which takes the hypercar from zero-to-60mph in under 2.5 seconds.
The Aston Martin Valkyrie will be driven by Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team driver Lance Stroll.
Aston Martin will be also featuring the all-new Vantage F1 Edition.
Based on the Vantage, Official Safety Car of Formula 1, with increased power and enhanced performance and dressed in the new Satin Aston Martin Racing Green, the Vantage F1 Edition is set to catch attention on the track and in the paddock.
The all-new Vantage F1 Edition will also be taking on the 1.16-mile Hillclimb course.
Also looking to make an appearance is the only 2021 F1 car to appear at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year, the AMR21.
The AMR21 will also be driven by Stroll.
Other cars to be brought to the 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed include the Vantage Roadster (in the latest DBR1 Designer Specification), the DB11 and DBS Volante, as well as the DBX SUV.
Drivers who will sit behind the wheel of the showcased vehicles include Aston Martin CEO Tobias Moers, EVP and Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman, three-time Le Mans winner Darren Turner, and Aston Martin Chief Engineer, Matt Becker.
The 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed takes place from July 8 to 11.
