The Aston Martin Valkyrie: Hear It Roar
The teasing of the Aston Martin Valkyrie continues. Since it was first announced in 2016, much has been said about the mid-engine hypercar, except perhaps the unveiling of the car itself. It’s been announced that the Valkyrie will have a 6.5-liter Cosworth V12 engine that's capable of a 1,130 hp output and a top speed of over 321 kilometers per hour. Reports say that the engine tops out at 11,000 rpm, which no other current production car could match. The LaFerrari comes at a distant 9,250 rpm.
If you're wondering what that much power could sound like, you're in luck. Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer tweeted a 20-second video clip that features the Valkyrie engine ripping through its gears. Make sure to have your speakers up.
The sound of “THE” GREAT British car company! Thank you @Cosworth @redbullracing #AstonMartinValkyrie #NaturallyAspirated#V12 pic.twitter.com/HmEICj29uH

The clip showcases the car’s naturally aspirated engine in full revolution, as renderings of the Valkyrie are shown on the video. Palmer describes it as "The sound of "THE" GREAT British car company!" in his Twitter post.
If you think the Valkyrie engine sounds like a Formula 1 racer, you wouldn't be wrong, because Aston Martin's goal for the hypercar is to give it the capability to run laps as fast as an F1 car. With the engine now working, it looks like the Valkyrie will push through with its slated 2019 release.
