The Competition Plus Package comes with the RS Sport Suspension Pro.“The new Competition Package is bursting with extras that both sharpen the cars’ appearance and make for a more emotional driving experience. With its optional coilover suspension (RS Sport Suspension pro), the competition plus package boasts a maximum in dynamics and driving fun while not compromising its top suitability for everyday use,” said Audi in a press release.
Cosmetic upgrades from both the Competition Package and the Competition Plus Package give the RS 4 Avant and the RS 5 a glossy black emblem (on the hood and on the trunk lid) and model lettering as well as a matching crystal effect Sebring Black finish.
The cars can also be optioned with Phantom Black high-sheen competition wheels. Audi can also add Pirelli P Zero Corsa high-performance tires with the 20-inch fully milled wheels, at an added cost.
Owners of the abovementioned models can opt to add the exclusive Carbon Matte Optics Package which includes carbon matte exterior mirrors, front blade, side flaps, sill extension, and rear diffuser.
The Competition Package and the Competition Plus Package also spruce up the RS 4 Avant and RS 5’s interior with Piano Black seats. The Dinamica material is made of 45 percent recycled PET fibers; about 215 grams of PET fibers are processed per seat.
The Competition Plus Package also comes with Audi’s RS Sport Suspension Pro on top of the aforementioned cosmetic features. The suspension system offers manually adjustable coilover suspension for an ideal spread between comfort and performance.
Customers opting for the Competition Plus Package will receive their RS 4 Avant or RS 5 with a ride height that is 10mm lower than standard RS models. In addition, customers can manually lower the ride height even further, bringing compatible models closer to the ground by 20mm.
A higher spring rate, three-way adjustable dampers, and stiffer stabilizers heighten the general driving experience and help shorten lap times should owners take their RS 4 Avant or RS 5 to the track.
On that note, the RS 4 Avant with the Competition Plus Package goes from zero to 100kph in only 3.9 seconds, an improvement of 0.2 seconds over the series standard. Meanwhile, the RS 5, both the coupe and sportback version with the Competition Plus Package, now goes from standstill to 100kph in only 3.8 seconds, an improvement of 0.1 seconds over the standard RS 5 models.
Furthermore, the competition packages come with the new RS sports exhaust system plus with tailpipes in matte black. The RS sports exhaust system plus, used here for the first time, takes the sound experience to a new level.
The UK pricing and full specification of the said competition packages are yet to be announced.
