The Audi E-Tron GT concept is scheduled to make its film debut in the fourth installment of Marvel Studios' superhero ensemble to be released in theaters summer 2019.
The fully electric vehicle, which made waves during its reveal at this month's Los Angeles Auto Show, will likely be driven by the team's resident 'Iron Man,' as Audi has been the brand of choice for Robert Downey Jr.'s character Tony Stark since 2008, who at that time drove an Audi R8.
Audi Sport GmbH, Audi's racing arm, figured prominently in the vehicle's design and development, and this is the reason the E-Tron GT's performance numbers are at supercar levels. The electric powertrain is being advertised as having a 590 hp output, which is enough to get the car from 0 to 100 kph in 3.5 seconds.
Naturally, the E-Tron GT has got to be a Quattro, and so power is transmitted to all four wheels. According to Audi, the concept car will have range of plus-400 kilometers, determined using the new Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles (WLTP) test procedure.
Despite being a concept car, the car is already close to going into production, with volume manufacturing scheduled to begin late in 2020.
