Australian-market Lexus RZ 450e SUV starts at P4.51-M

Lexus has announced the price of the Australian-market all-electric RZ 450e sport utility vehicle (SUV), revealing an initial cost of AU$123,000 (around P4.51 million).

The base Luxury variant wears a redesigned spindle grille flanked by LED headlights with static auto-leveling and headlight washers, as well as LED daytime running lights. To its side are heated side mirrors with auto-dimming (driver’s side) and power-folding function. Notable rear features include a spoiler and privacy glass.

It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels.

The cabin of the Lexus RZ 450e Luxury flaunts plush NuLuxe leather trims, a 14-inch multimedia display, a 10-speaker Panasonic audio system, five USB-C ports, and a Qi wireless phone charger.

Power comes from a 71.4-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery unit with a compact and lightweight 11-kilowatt onboard charger.

Charging the battery using a three-phase power supply takes around six-and-a-half hours while plugging it into a DC fast-charging system juices the battery to 80 percent in just 30 minutes.

On a single charge, the Lexus RZ 450e Luxury can drive up to 470 kilometers.

“The RZ 450e is a milestone vehicle for Lexus. It is not a vehicle that simply adopts battery electric power in place of a conventional engine. It goes much further to realize the exciting potential of new technologies that enhance performance and driving pleasure,” said Lexus Australia Chief Executive John Pappas.

“The Lexus Electrified philosophy is based upon intelligent, engineering-led solutions that add to the joy of luxury car ownership. The RZ 450e is ready for customers wanting the best of both worlds from Lexus, without compromise,” he added.

Lexus will offer the RZ 450e in two trims, the other is Sports Luxury. It builds on the base Luxury grade and adds features like acoustic glass, dynamic auto-leveling headlights with cornering function, a two-tone exterior paint option, Ultrasuede interior trim, and heated seats.

The range-topping model rides on larger 20-inch alloy wheels.

In addition, the Lexus RZ 450e Sports Luxury grade gets touch-sensitive steering wheel controls, a head-up display, an adaptive high beam system, intelligent park assist, a dimming panoramic roof, a smart key card, and a 13-speaker Mark Levison Premium Audio system.

The Lexus RZ 450e Sports Luxury is priced at AU$135,000 (P4.947 million).
