Auto Expo 2020: 2020 Hyundai Tucson Gets Facelift, Minor Updates
Korean car brand Hyundai has given its Tucson its latest facelift in time for the ongoing 2020 Auto Expo in India.
According to Hyundai Motor India CEO, S S Kim, "Tucson had redefined the Premium SUV segment with its class-leading features and unmatched performance. Hyundai, being India’s Most Preferred SUV Brand, constantly strives to upgrade its products and services with best-in-class technology that meets the evolving needs of today’s customers and their rising aspirations.”
The changes are very noticeable on the exterior of the SUV. The front now has the signature Hyundai trapezoid cascading grille flanked by headlights with LED daytime running lights at the top and fog lights at the bottom. The back carries the sharp, elongated design for its taillights, massive roof spoiler, shark fin, and now rides in a new set of alloy wheels.
Inside, the cosmetic updates on the cabin include a redesigned instrument cluster, USB charging points for the second row, wireless mobile phone charging at the front, and a panoramic sunroof. The 8-inch floating infotainment system, besides being Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatible, comes with voice command and Hyundai Blue Link that provides connectivity with Safety, Security, Geographic Information Services, Vehicle Management Relationship Management, Artificial Intelligence, Alert Services, and Location-Based Services.
The long list of safety specs and driver-assist features include electronic parking brake, rain-sensing wipers, electronic stability control, hill assist control, downhill brake control, brake assist, front and rear parking sensors, and anti-lock braking system. What is more, the new Hyundai luxury SUV is made with 70 percent Sigh Strength Steel (AHSS + HSS) for a robust body structure to comply with Hyundai’s safety standards and the company’s ‘safe drive’ philosophy.
The new feature-loaded and more connected 2020 Tucson will be powered by either 2.0-liter petrol or diesel BS-VI engines partnered to the same 6-speed manual with an option of 6-speed automatic transmission which is similar to the current model. The new Tucson will also come in an all-wheel drivetrain.
