Auto Nation Group (ANG) has unveiled its latest offering to the Philippine market: the Ram 1500 TRX.
In a statement, the country’s importer of Ram vehicles said that the vehicle is “made for performance and for breaking down barriers, including the convention that pick-up trucks are only either for functional utility or a leisure outdoor adventure.”
Claiming to be the fastest truck in the world, the Ram 1500 TRX is powered by supercharged 6.2-liter V8 HEMI engine (also known as the Hellcat engine) that produces 702 horses and 881 Nm of pulling power. This powertrain enables the vehicle to run 0 to 60mph in 4.5 seconds. This is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The vehicle is supported by a new five-link independent rear suspension system and comes with all-new 2.6-inch Bilstein Black Hawk E2 adaptive performance shocks in the front and rear.
This newest offering wears 18-inch black aluminum wheels that wear the modern logo layout.
Its entire exterior illumination system — the adaptive front-lighting system (twin bi-functional projector headlamps and fog lamps) as well as tail lamps — is on LED. “It also integrates new LED clearance lamps that are fixed into the hood scoop and front bumper flares to further amplify the aesthetic of the truck,” ANG shared.
To reduce pressure at the corners of the truck while providing ventilation for the engine, the Ram 1500 TRX sports an improved airflow ventilation system that allows air to come up through the flow-through badge header and through the hood scoop and side fender vents.
On the inside, occupants of the Ram 1500 TRX are to be welcomed by the spacious interior, carbon fiber adornment to match the contrasting red suede-and-leather trimmings found in the bucket seats and shift knob.
The TRX logo is embroidered in its signature bright red hue, right below the headrests of the driver and passenger seats.
The Ram 1500 TRX is also the first vehicle for the company to feature the flat-bottomed steering wheel with paddle shifters in addition to the brand-new console shifter.
Passengers are assured of utmost comfort while inside the cabin. This is due to the following: roomy interior, eight-way power seats with four-way lumbar adjustment, driver seat memory and front and rear seats that can be heated or ventilated.
Further, the Ram 1500 TRX has a digital rearview mirror, seven-inch TFT full-color display, new performance-oriented floor shifter, USB charging ports, wireless charging dock, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible 12-inch touchscreen display with UConnect 12.0 navigation that is connected to 19-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system. It also has a Head-Up Display (HUD) that serves as the driver’s virtual cockpit that can display up to five different content areas at once.
The Ram 1500 TRX also comes with multi-function dampened tailgate with remote release, seven-pin wiring harness, e-locker rear axle, Mopar 4 adjustable cargo tie-down hooks, a deployable Mopar bed step, tow hooks, speed-sensing door locks, and rain-sensitive wipers.
In terms of safety, the RAM 1500 TRX boasts of more than 100 active and passive safety features that include advanced multistage front air bags, supplement side airbags, Child Seat Anchor System, Blind Spot and Cross Path Detection, Brake Assist, Electronic Roll Mitigation, Full Speed Forward Collision Warning, Parksense Front/Rear Park Assist, a Surround View Camera System, and a Sentry Key Theft Deterrent System.
