Autohub Formally Announces Pagani Distributorship with Horacio Pagani's PH Visit
In February 2018, the news broke that the Autohub Group--the company that has brands like Rolls-Royce, Lotus, and MINI under its corporate umbrella in the Philippines--was appointed as the exclusive selling agent for Pagani Automobili, the manufacturer of iconic bespoke hypercars like the Pagani Zonda and Pagani Huayra. To formally announce the partnership just over a year after, the Authohub Group officially flew in the man behind the famed brand, its Founder and President, Horacio Pagani.
“We first met him back in 2015 at Shanghai China, then we visited Pagani in Modena, Italy in November 2015, then in Hongkong--Macau 2018 for the Macau Grand Prix," said Autohub Group President Willy Tee Ten. "He's a really humble guy considering what he did for Pagani and to the whole automobile industry. And now he's finally here. I'm looking forward to seeing Paganis in the Philippine roads very soon."
Pagani's brief visit to the Philippines--he flew in on the night of March 25 and flies out today, March 27--is auspicious as it is in the wake of the brand's 20th anniversary. That's because on March 11 at the 1999 Geneva International Motor Show, Pagani Automobili debuted its first-ever car--and its first-ever commercial release--in the Zonda C12. Now, even at 20 years old, the Zonda remains one of the most iconic cars ever made, and in the recently-concluded 2019 Geneva International Motor Show, Pagani presented the completely restored chassis of the very first Zonda ever made.
The Zonda ended its production run in 2017, but Pagani's follow-up--and current--offering in the Huayra has found just as much success and is likewise a celebrated piece of hypercar history.
According to Pagani Global Sales Manager Alberto Giovanelli, the company only produces up to 40 cars a year--only 139 Zonda's were ever made, including the one-offs, he told select members of the media, which included CARMUDI PHILIPPINES--to maintain its exclusivity, with each one priced at EUR2 million (nearly PHP119 million before taxes and duties), and that's before the various customization options come in. As for the delivery time once an order is placed? It supposedly takes about a year.
